- Cousins Stuart Meads (aged 9) and Oliver Horton (7) form a band ("Technobeat") and write their first album, entitled "Stereo"
- Stu and Oli change their band’s name to "Trademark"
-1998 - Trademark write 5 albums which no-one will ever hear, hopefully. 1998’s album "Obscure" sells about 6 copies on the internet, one to someone in Italy.
- Paul Soulsby joins Trademark, and together they make "Audiologue" which sells a few more copies, but not many. Audiologue contains early versions of some songs which crop up later on..
- The band play their first proper gig at Truck 2000, Steventon, Oxfordshire.
- Trademark take a year off for no apparent reason.
- Trademark start playing live properly.
- The self-release their album "Fear: Disconnection" gets a good response. It’s no longer available, but many of the tracks feature on later releases..
- Following another self release, the EP "This Is Our Trademark", the album "Trademark Want More" is released in the UK on Truck Records. The press like it (most of them), including Pop CD of the Week in The Times. A live XFM session with John Kennedy followed, and then Trademark finished the year off with a nationwide tour supporting the Human League.
- The band racked up a load of gigs, and worked on new material... slowly...
- New album "Raise The Stakes" is finally released in April. It features a string octet, pipe organ and other time-consuming instruments..
- Trademark produce and co-write tracks for top girl band Red Blooded Women
