However Non-members are ALWAYS WELCOME.
InfluencesWe are committed to music of all kinds, from African to blues, folk to hip-hop, jazz to drum and bass. Easy on the pop though eh. Hello and welcome to the Static Rain fans space!
NEXT GIGS!
4th June @ Bradford Playhouse
7th June @ THE KEIGHLEY KRAWL (2.30pm @ New Variety Club)
10th June @ The Primrose, Leeds.
19th June @ Keighley Catholic Club. (with cant kill the heat)
12th July @ Delius, Bradford.

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act.  The band is currently looking for gigs from August 2009 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.

I appreciate that this could be seen as being completely unrelated to Trades...

But I think it's ACE...

:O)

http://thru-you. com/#/videos/6/

...so I thought I'd share.

It's a cut 'n' paste collage of 'new' artists interspersed with occasional samples from auld. Constructed with love and dedication.

*needless to say, I LOVE IT!!!*

...anyway.

Feb 20 2009 1:51 PM

THIS SATURDAY 21st Feb at the trades club in Hebden Martin Deane (Bassquake, Trailer Trash) will be the guest DJ for our first "Later @ the Trades" from 11pm on

"later at the trades" is a new idea for the trades club.
After the band finishes on SAturday often people just go home..so we thought it would be good to put on a separate event after the band. so that there is somewhere to go dancing towards the end of the evening.. and so "Later @ the Trades" was born.

Admission is free to those who have paid to see the band.. but if you just come along for "Later" it will be £2 in.

Come along to the Trades Club this saturday for the first night and lets make it a success!

THE TRAVELLING BAND + special guests Maghribibeat + Submaniks
THE TRAVELLING BAND
“Manchester’s great next hope? They ought to be.” Metro
Led by the gifted song-writing, impeccable playing, and honeyed harmonies of vocalists/guitarists Adam Gorman, Jo Dudderidge and Steve ‘Snaf’ Ballinger, The Travelling Band’s shimmering blend of cosmic-country-pop-folk has made them one of the most talked about artists to emerge from the Manchester music scene in many a year. They’ve recently released their debut album. Expect great things in 2009.
MAGHRIBIBEAT
Traditional Moroccan Gnawa music meets high energy acoustic driven trance. One of the very best live experiences in the U.K. Perfect festival music. Be prepared to dance and trance. Maghribibeat play REAL trance made by human beings and not computers!

he band re-creates a highly rhythmic and trance-like sound typical of North Africa, and band members have made several visits to Morocco to gather and extend their material, and during one visit performed on Moroccan national television.
SUBMANIKS
A new band from Sowerby Bridge.
Expect guitar infused power pop!
