About me: A long time ago during the American Revolutionary war, small drum lines were formed to lead marches of countless soldiers who were on the way to fulfilling their destiny. Due to angle constraints in the way these drums hung around the soldiers an alternate grip was conceived with the left hand.
I was born.
Immediately news of this newfound grip, now referred to as "Traditional Grip" (or "Mr. Grip") spread through the camps like wildfire. The grip itself allowed the soldiers to play with ease and so better cadences were created allowing the soldiers to march with more confidence while increasing morale. Above this however was the fact that traditional Grip was just so dam cool that some say Traditional Grip swayed the wars direction.
I'll never tell.
Currently the challenge of traditional grip is only used by those drummers elite enough to harness it's sheer power into ultimately what becomes creative freedom.

I'm so SORRY Traditional Grip! Even though i have used you ever since i first began playing drums, I have to admit that I cheated on you a year ago with matched. the traditional grip is for the drums as the one handed backhand for tennis . it is the tradition .Erskine ,Weckl , Colaiuta play with tradition as well as Federer , Sampras , Lendl . sooo ...is it worth it ??? you tell me !!!.
