Sounds Like
The soundtrack to an early Sunday pint of Guinness confessing your brand-new sins to your best friend
"What does the bared heart of punk rock sound like? Tragical History Tour, that's what. Hailing from Alyth in Perthshire, Tragical History Tour features a singer/songwriter, poet and lyricist with a sound that is satisfyingly dark with a smattering of self-deprecating humour." - The Ultimate Chill, 2006
...or just good, passionate and honest acoustic punk rock'n'roll played from the heart.
It's all about the anti-folk solocore cowpunk confessions...
Tragical History Tour is Derrick Johnston (me!).
Tragical History Tour began while I was hiding from the noise and violence of 13 Broken Fingers in my spray-painted bedroom about 5 years ago.
Since then I have released two EPs, the first eponymous EP was released through The Root Chord, while the 'Broken Strings and Senseless Things' odds'n'ends EP was released through Make-That-A-Take Records, our own DIY label.
My third release 'A Little Death' is out on Make-That-A-Take now. Please message me if you want a copy.
I began playing solo shows in 2003. This was purely by accident when the Fingers couldn't make a gig. Since then I have played in excess of 400 shows and have had the pleasure of sharing a stage (or floor) with many amazing bands and people including Mike Park, Even In Blackouts, Frank Turner, Ghost Mice, Paul Baribeau, PMX, The Dangerfields, Sundowner, Chief, Taking Chase, The JB Conspiracy, Richard Bacchus and The Luckiest Girls and many, many more.
I love playing shows and will play almost anywhere, any time. If you want some honest acoustic cowpunk rock'n'roll to play your pub, club, squat, house party, BBQ, festival or whatever, please give me a shout.
