Who are we? What are we? Why are we?
These are all perfectly reasonable questions that we ask ourselves from time to time. Answering them is difficult when you are trying to do it on behalf of a diverse crew of folk but here goes.
During summer 2002, a chance meeting at the trailer park - that we like to think of as fate – gave birth to Trailer Trash. After a few small scale parties, we moved on to our new home, the Mill in Bradford, on the 31st May 2003 for the first of many all-night sessions.
That first party established the Trailer Trash music policy; diverse musical styles spread over two dance-floors which showcase the considerable talents of our 9 resident DJs alongside carefully selected guests, sometimes local &
sometimes from further a field.
Over the last few years the Main Room has reverberated to the techno sounds of Mark Turner (Orbit /Player), John Berry (Orbit/E-Bloc), Paul Cottam (Action/Locked) Karl Roscoe (E-Bloc), James Holroyd (Back to Basics/ Bugged Out), Danny Webb (Piccadilly Records), Miles (Pelican Neck/ Baked Goods) & Rob Bright (Bugged Out). Breaks & Tech-House have been supplied by Felix (10 Kilo) Wreckage (Wall of Sound) Sam Hell (Sinister / MOFO) Howard Sessions (Tweak)Captain Trenchfoot (Toil SOundsystem / Beat Herder) & local techno outfit Bopstag! (Midnight Recordings / B.O.P.S) & Acid Rockers (Mantra /Fat)
The Lounge Room has also seen its fair share of guest DJs including Sean P (Disco not Disco/ Better Days), Moonboots (Aficionado) Mark Jackson & Spanish Fly, Sean Vinylment, Danman & Bongo Chilli (Underground Roots), Slackerears & Dillinger P (Bug Out/ Chapter 4), The Future Sounds of Pudsey (Sandinista) Joe Black (Crabwalking /HeavyCrates.com).
Alongside this attention to musical detail, Trailer Trash also has an unusual line in club decor, which is made entirely from recycled & revamped items donated or scavenged from charity shops & spruced up by the Trailer Trash decor team. Described as a cross between a clockwork orange, the Adams family & Steptoe & Son, the decor is inspired by an original mixture of influences with a few religious icons thrown in for good measure, which creates an unusual setting for the party faithful.
The Trailer Trash experience has been described as an ‘indoor festival’, which is hardly surprising when you consider that we spend our summers bringing the Trailer Trash Lounge to a variety of festivals including the Beatherder (2006/07/08), Mawbray (2005/06), Palgowan (2004) and the Rocket Festival in Spain (2006/07).
As the name suggests, the Trailer Trash crew share a love of Airstream caravans & unusual vehicles.
Finally, we think it fitting that we should send out a heartfelt thank-you to everyone – and we do mean everyone – who has ever been involved with Trailer Trash. So if you’ve ever deejayed, lifted, carried, cleared-up, staffed the door or gate, banged in fence posts, picked up litter or helped out in any other way, give yourself a big pat on the back from us. Extra special thanks also goes out to the party faithful who make the whole thing worthwhile….cheers!
After an amazing re-union gig back in summer, ATTT are pleased to announce we will again be throwing another party for everyone to get their sesh on and have a good ol rave to.
Come join the fun and frolics at fax's legendary Bar Up where there ...will be the best in house and techno Halifax has to offer.
To our delight we will be using the massive Psybase sound system which is regularly used to make the most hardcore of techno ravers' ears bleed! But only this time it will be donned by the ATTT residents banging it out just the way it should be. Yes it’s gonna be loud! Psybase will also be providing the lighting which gives constant hallucinations to their resident trip heads.
We will be having the new sounds of Push On resident Luke Gibson on the 1's and 2's playing some of his own fresh tunes. Last time Gibby played at Bar Up he was playing drum and bass but has now seen the light and converted to a funkier blend of sounds, expect house and grooves that are doing the business at Basics' Black Box in Leeds. Storr will be playing back to back with ex-faxian Nicky Benn dishing out some nice tech house action guaranteed to get you into the swing of things. Some hard hitting beats and throbbing bass lines will be churned out by Dezza who will turn the light to dark, with some fresh new bangers which will indeed test out the Psybase sound system. Continuing on the techno edge will be Turks and Key delivering nice driving techno with a hint of breaks here and there with continued banging-ness to keep you rockin and seshing till the cows come home.
We will be having a massive fire in the yard being in the spirit of bonfire night and all. Bring your own sparklers and garden fireworks which will complement
