TRAINERSPOTTER SPRING AND SUMMER 2009
Question: What have Desperately Seeking Susan, A Nightmare on Elm Street, the Rolling Stones, the Vietnam War, Ed Roth, Keith Haring and the Masters of the Universe all got in common? Answer: Trainerspotters Spring Summer 09 collection!
The exploration and deconstruction of popular culture consumption continues this season with influences from our youth and some from our present!
New styles this season include the 1950’s college wear inspired Sweatpants and shorts. Authentic details such as the wide rib waistband and drawstring cord hems add a touch of individuality to our revival of the much maligned Tracky bottom.
A quintessential American college Warm Up jacket emblazoned with a chain stitched Trainerspotter and discrete Palm logo on the sleeve.
Our lightweight showerproof Ninja Cag is perfect for the spring and summer, inspired by California’s Sierra Designs and their late 60’s hiking cagoule, we’ve even replicated the shoulder position of their logo badge as a nod to our fav original outdoor brand! Available in 3 colours, its made from tough ripstop and complimented by off beat detailing it’s a wardrobe staple.
Following on from the Trials jacket comes the Sahara Jacket, made from a lightweight unlined wax cotton and based on a 1930’s desert riding smock with authentic bellows pockets and neck strap detail.
Two new sunglasses styles hit the racks, first the CZ’s inspired by THE 80’s shade brand Cazal, for the discerning fashionista combining metallics and snakeskin prints! Second, the Rocksteady range with an aviator frame and oilslick reflective 1 piece lens.
Available from your local stockist and the webstore.
Two English lads with a love of sports heritage and sportswear set out to create a brand that represented their passion. They launched Trainerspotter in 2002 with no outside participation and no compromises. Initially entering the fashion process determined to find the sincerity of pure sportswear. The design process was all about spontaneity and rawness. Eventually joined by a third likeminded member the brand began to expand its parameters and grew to worldwide proportions.
Because of the synchronicity of the three designers, a unique mindset now directs the aesthetic of the brand, drawing inspirations from sports culture, music, film and fashion. Breaking through any kind of calculation, Trainerspotter has found a hard won freedom that has both integrity and coherence.
Stocked worldwide in the most directional stores found in each city, Trainerspotter is rapidly evolving but continually seeking to offer more detailed garments, telling more inspirational stories and but will never comprimise the brand ethos.
To give anything less than best is to sacrifice the gift.
