Scott is influenced by Asian and Latin music styles.
Scott also is influenced by the music of Keiko Matsui, Ondo, John Dumas, Yanni and The Rippingtons.
Many thanks go out to Saggio and his wife Barbara, Betina Lindsey, Marty Lisonbee, Mary Munarin, Wayne and Shirley Grossman and most of all to his wife Laurie for believing in the difference he could make in peoples lives with his music and creative talents.
Also a very special thanks to Mad "Max" Skabeland, Pat Haran, "Trade" Lee Wach, John Stillwell, Michael Graham Allen, Butch Hall for their incredible talents as flute makers. Scott is proud to own instruments from these extraordinary flute makers and considers them some of the finest flutes he has ever played.
On a beautiful spring afternoon in early April of 2003, Scott began an
experience that has often been referred to as a flute journey. Scott's home
town of Litchfield Park was having its bi-annual Arts and Crafts Festival.
At the festival, he was introduced to the Native American Flute by well
known recording artist and flute player, Saggio and his wife Barbara. He
purchased his first flute from them. Little did he know at the time, this
incredible musical instrument would send him on a journey that would change
his life forever.
While Scott's primary instrument is the Native American Flute, you will find
that his style is more in line with a World Music rather then a Native American
style music. Scott's musical journey has given him exposure to exotic
instruments from the four corners of the world that he has taught himself to
play with an impressive degree of proficiency. He incorporates these rarely
seen and little known instruments into his performances along with his
flutes. His knowledge and stories about each of these instruments magically
transcends the audience on a world tour.
Scott is also a recording artist and has four releases. Grateful Journey
(Jazz and World Music style), Beyond Paradigm (Meditative Music), Harmonic
Journey (Scott's first collaborative piece with his previous band,
SchaZangAway) and Ebb & Flow, his most recent collaborative effort featuring
the elegance of Japanese pianist Marina Miyoshi. Scott continues to use his music in ways that bring forth joy, healing, and just plain fun. Interacting with his audience, he tells stories, while educating on the history and culture of his many instruments. He captivates children of all ages, and interacts with them on stage, with a hands on approach, awakening the musical spirit within them.
