Hi, we’re TransfRictioN! =D
Formed in early 2008 by guitarist Jeff Commissaris (24), singer Marq Blackbird (27), bassist Derek Garcia (28) and drummer Lonnie McKnight (27); TransfRictioN has spent the last year-and-a-half taking the local Albuquerque rock scene by bike, bus and bummed rides!
Released in the summer of 2009, the band’s debut EP “TransfRictioN Was Here” has been met with Dave’s Reviews (see below) and has already been certified Double Bronze in the U.S! (Jeff’s mom had casts made of two copies. They’re hanging on her living room wall next to his baby shoes and first doodie.)
Capitalizing on the momentum from this CD, TransfRictioN recently kicked off a major, full-scale, no-bars barred tour spanning the entire city! In just under a month, the band has played nearly all 5 of Albuquerque’s rock venues, gaining (and receiving citations for) exposure everywhere they’ve gone and in the process performing their singular ‘Gangsta Clown Punk’ – style of rock before an audience of literally dozens!
Not content to be just another rock group, TransfRictioN is also a registered non-profit organization within the State of New Mexico; dedicated to charitable contributions of money and manpower to important causes like:
-Pizzaholics Anonymous.
-Veterans of World of Warcraft.
-Adopt-a-Cheerleader.
So, what’s next for TransfRictioN? The answer is simple and inevitable: shameless product endorsement! That’s right; whether its ladies undergarments, political candidates, or energy drinks named after controlled substances, this band knows that in showbiz (as in life); you’re only as loved as the crap you’re selling!
But TransfRictioN also knows that for a band to get famous enough to have their faces on lunch boxes and their own action figure line requires more than just four guys going out every night drinking and brawling and getting arrested; it requires a whole team of people going out every night drinking and brawling and getting arrested on behalf of that band! And where in the world is TransfRictioN to find such a team?

Numan was our tecnical director and was responsible for all of the TV magic that happens on your screen. Numan just turned 26 years old on thurs 9/10 and died on Friday in an auto accident. Numan was going back to school to better his future. He was extremely talented at every thing he did. He will be truly missed

STUDIO AUDIENCE: The W.V. airs at the Quote Unquote Studio's in studio "a" at 415 Tijeras NW, Albuquerque NM We are located in the old County Courthouse on the south west side of the Civic Plaza in downtown ABQ. Our front doors are on civic plaza at the east side of the building up the handicap ramp Do not try to enter from the street Do not try to enter Tijeras St from 2nd or 3rd street. Tijeras st is a one way and can only be enterd from 6th or 5th street. There is meter parking on both sides of the street. Parking is free after 6pm. Underground parking is available at a price.. The W.V. always has live bands and is always free.
