   Transhumanist Student Network (TSN)'s Blurbs
About me:

Transhumanism is a philosophical and cultural movement that affirms both the possibility and desirability of transcending limitations of the human body through applied reason, especially by using technology to eliminate aging and enhance human intellectual, physical and psychological capacities. For a general consensus statement, see the Transhumanist Declaration.

The Transhumanist Student Network (TSN) serves transhumanist students and youth.

TSN provides assistance in setting up transhumanist groups on campuses, recommends contacts for speaker events and supplies materials from the World Transhumanist Association (WTA) for outreach efforts. TSN also provides assistance to individual advocates.

TSN and the WTA are umbrella organizations for a wide variety of perspectives (from economically left to right and socially radical to moderate conservative, though we do not accept racism or totalitarianism) but all members share a biopolitical position that holds we should allow people who wish to do so to use technology to ameliorate suffering and improve upon what we currently consider "the human condition."

[Since this is an *outreach* profile it has been joined to MySpace groups which some but not all transhumanists would endorse, e.g. various political groups. We think all these groups should be aware of H+ issues.]

Some transhumanist organizations affiliated with us through the WTA focus on particular political agendas while others focus on safe realization of particular technologies (e.g. nanotech and A.I. safety). We also cooperate with biopolitical allies such as self-described meliorists, futurists, technoprogressives, etc.

Our topics are discussed in academia, government,
media and pop culture today.

Get involved in what is arguably not only the
most important movement of this century, but also the
most important movement in human history.

* After you JOIN the WTA be sure to join our yahoo decison-making group WTA-Campus as well as our MySpace group. Also, if you have an account, friend our global group on Facebook.

For additional mailed materials to help you start a campus group and introduce peers to our ideas and research, visit the website of the brand-new allied transhumanist student outreach institution "h+" at: http://www.hplusclub.com

Who I'd like to meet:

Students (of any age) and youth (a relative term that will someday become largely obsolete, but let's say anyone under 36) who are transhumanists or want to learn more about the movement are the people we would like to meet.

However, we welcome support from older non-students. This is especially true if you are cool - or at least entertaining. Or brilliant. Or wealthy and generous. Or an insanely committed activist allied with our cause. Or you know the rules of English grammer...

Let's put it this way, you would have to try very hard to get us to reject you or not add you (no, we will not share ideas on how to accomplish this feat). If we requested you add us it is probably because you are a member of a H+ themed group or are in what seemed like a compatible friend network. We accept practically anyone. Frankly, we could use all the support we can get.

If you find our content fanscinating and wish to promote the TSN profile please include us in your "top 8 - 24."

[If anyone makes any claim about affiliations of this profile or the transhumanist movement please double-check with us to make sure what you were told is accurate. We can provide you with evidence and arguments to counter most bogus claims. The transhumanist movement promotes critical thinking applied to all areas of human endeavor, including the ideas and organizational structures that appear within the transhumanist movement.]

ARTISTS AND WRITERS:
Visit the WTA Transhumanist Artists and Writers page.

Please E-mail us at TSNtransnational@transhumanism.org if you would like to:

(1) Establish a H+ group on campus or affiliate an existing group with the TSN

(2) Become a TSN leader at the transnational, regional and/or national level

(3) Offer us assistance with your talents, skills, funding, etc. or offer to collaborate with us on some project.

Aubrey deGrey is going to be on Barbara Walters tomorrow at 10pm eastern time.

To any reading this that don’t know, he is the founder of the S.E.N.S. project to end aging. He has a book out for the layman describing it. But its still got enough science in it so as to not cut corners.

You can check out all the finer details in publications.

I took Eric's awesome idea and created this myspace group.
Ending Aging Book Owner's challenge
If you own the book take a photo of your self with the book "Ending Aging" by Dr Aubrey de Grey, preferably in front of an identifiable land mark where ever you live and email it to me or Eric! or provide us with a link where i can find the photo, I will then post that in the group's image section.

Once the first 50 photos have been uploaded in the group's image section.I wiil give 1000$ for SENS research under the name " A Fan of Aubrey de Grey's work "  Each member can only send one photo.
One has already been submitted, 49 more to go in order for me to cough up a 1000 $ of my money.

We've now had 5 years of lies about Iraq: 9/11, WMD's, freedom. The real reasons were oil, profiteering, fascism. Not just Bush, but the news media, most of congress, and all who remain silent. And now they'll use fear to quash dissent. It's nothing new -- it's been going on for ages. War, poverty, ecocide, arrogant bullying --they're all from greed and fear, which come from ignorance. ♥ But it's not too late -- we can still learn to make peace. Talk with people. Love, Eric

As our Political Price System collapses now with the dissolution of our debt stucture.. our society becomes dysfunctional. Because all choice is based on something that measures nothing real (money) chaos will result. Hopefully that will be short lived and we will change into a different social system.. and protect our citizens. The Adam Smith economic model is 18th cent. and actually goes back to the original people control mechanism from Babylon.
The coming civil will not be a so called race related event but a rejection of our caste/class system.

BBC4 Series "The Century of the Self" by Adam Curtis

This fascinating documentary discusses the influence of schools of psychology, public relations, and advertising theory on social trends, power relations, normative standards and self-focused demands on leadership by much of the "swing voting" public in the US and UK up to the late 1990s. It would be interesting to see the series extended into the 2000s and address personalized medicine, which promise to improve medicinal efficacy far beyond common rates of 60%-40%, but which inevitably will encounter challenges concerning to the need to maintain profitability (at least in the foreseeable near future) through creative new business strategies and the humanitarian and economic interest of expanding into tightly cost-controlled and emerging markets.

Unless and until a new mechanism of a science based social design can be implemented... our actual use of technology will be limited to concepts of money or debt token making.

As we destroy our resource base in the system of corporate globalism the window of opportunity will close in regard to sustainable options.

The Technate design provides a system based on energy accounting. It is not a Price System. This system precludes special interest groups.
It is non sectarian.
It is humanitarian and secular.. creative and unique.

My profile now has vast amounts of Star Trek information about joining the official Starfleet Command. Just click on any of the banners "pictures" and they will take you directly to that link. It's that easy with no copying and pasting. If you are 21 or older you might consider joining Barfleet which is the wild party side of the Star Trek clubs. There are 4 places to click on to get an application to join the Official Starfleet Command: my blog contains an application or click on any of the three pictures of ( big circle with Starfleet Command logo), ( Starfleet Command Uncle Sam) or (tricorder with applications next to it). They will bring up a PDF file. Just copy it, fill it out and mail it in.
I also have many Star Trek conventions listed. Again, just click on the banner (picture) and it will take you to that site.

P.S. I would be forever grateful if you would add me to your top friends list.

Live long and prosper!
