4ZzZ's new Do It Yourself show Paper, SciZzZors, Glue!! are putting on a zine-making workshop at the Transit Lounge on Tuesday September 16 to celebrate and encourage radical creativity in the wider community.
A Lucky Door Prize of a recycled kick-arse bicycle is being offered thanks to Bicycle Revolution, to celebrate the art of re-inventing and reusing recycled materials.
Zines have been an interest of Paper, SciZzZors, Glue!! hosts Ili and Innez Tulloch for several years, and are an exciting and alternative medium to disseminate a whole range of ideas.
The small self-published magazines can be about almost anything – activism, band interviews, recipes, notes, poetry, drawings and comic strips are some common themes.
Zines have been a form of underground DIY expression for years, and a way to get projects started is to brainstorm and skillshare.
For this reason Paper, SciZzZors, Glue are inviting creative DIYers and associated riff-raff for one night of getting truly radio-active!
We hope to have a blast together and churn out at least one zine during the evening, and all work created on the night is welcome to be exhibited at the upcoming Transit Lounge zine exhibition in November.
