The Translucents came together late in the summer of 2006 by a common love of music and similar outlooks on life. The lyrics contain messages that are emotionally meaningful, and placed in powerful melodies. The group got together after Rohit heard the sounds of drumming coming from down the street and met and invited Ryan Knapp to play with him and friend Ryan Rasmussen some time.
The first time Rohit and Knapp ever played together, it was about an hour long session of playing "Hey Joe" over and over (and over).
Brady Quinlan, Knapp's coworker and friend, came on board to play bass shortly after and The Translucents were complete. Three weeks later, they tracked their first EP, precept:OFF.
Over the past few months, their sound has matured with each new song. Their debut record, Roots Run Deep, is available now on iTunes, at Easy Street Records in Seattle, and CDBaby.
