Influences
Difficult to say, really with so many control freaks in the band, but for starters..Soundgarden, Janes Addiction, Muse, Red Hot Chilli peppers, REM, Live, Cocteau Twins, Miles Davis, Opeth, Orphaned Land, Pavement, Black Crowes, Pearl Jam, Tool, Perfect Circle, Billy Cobham, Dream Theatre, Mars Volta, Foo Fighters, Coheed and Cambria, Puressence, Pixies, Perfect Disaster, Depeche Mode, Dave Gahan, Dave Matthews, Throwing Muses, Miracle Legion, Rain Parade, Radiohead (early), Ride, Hunters and Collectors, Hoodoo Gurus, Neil Young, Led Zep, Stanley Clarke, Zappa, Prince, That Petrol Emotion, Morrissey, Joni Mitchell, Mark Kozelek, Mark Lanegan, Screaming Trees, Paco de Lucia, Chemical Brothers, the Aloof, Banco de Gaia, Powderfinger, Faith No More, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Riverside, Chris Cornell, New Order, The Smiths, Ali Farka Toure, Youssou N'Dour, WOMAD, Johnny Clegg, Mfasi Omnyama, Blue Note albums,John Mclaughlin, Al Di Meola, George Clinton, Tim Buckley, Jeff Buckley and frankly, so much other stuff, that it's all too much.
Sounds Like
Fairly loud, rocking, melodic, rather intricate at times, some might say progressive in a Mars Volta/Perfect Circle kind of way..occasionally askew and mildly strange, but in a good way, we think.
Lost Transmission are a 4-piece rock band heralding from London and Oxford.
They claim influences as diverse as Muse, Led Zeppelin and A Perfect Circle.
Their unique blend of Eastern-influenced rock combines equal amounts of intricacy and energy, a combination that works as well live as it does in the studio. Their performances around the UK have received top reviews and lead to radio airplay.
Natural front man Mark Cobb has notable presence and passion, while music from Zeek Sweiry (guitar), Brian Coulton (Bass) and Simon (Oz) Osborne (Drums) is powerful, innovative and dynamic.
We’ve been around for a while, but due to changes, ie guitar a couple of years ago, and drums, end of 2006..we’ve evolved from jangly indie tragedians into Jolly, melodic, eastern influenced, upward looking, dark, intense, mildly dissatisfied, rockists..we play extensively in Oxford, and less extensively in London..we turned down a recording contract a few years ago..weird huh!!??
Managers have come and gone..hey ...we’re not that difficult..beyond that..and rather officially..we play LIVE as often as poss..
we like..Great singers, happy people, awareness and fairness, great guitarists, in fact great musicians....different things, stuff that's not the same as all the other stuff..
May '08..we are joined by Ronnie Fairhust, as the 5th element to our 4. She is now managing the band.

I think that's the first time anyone's said thanks since i took it on, i've mainly had people thinking it's weird that a fan of a radio show runs it's myspace info site even tho the DJ in question gave me his full backing and praise on the R6 message board...still, whoop de doo i enjoy it! thanks :) Lou x
