About me:
Transgender Photography Project
I am looking for people in the Transgender Community to help me out with a photography collection and senior thesis. I am part of the GLBT community and want to bring the Trans community more into the light. I believe that the T in GLBT is too often silent, bringing me to this project.
I am a photography student from Pittsburgh, PA attending Chatham College. As part of my senior thesis, I must produce a gallery showing to graduate. I want to get this project started now, so I can accomplish more and make the collection great.
The Show will be held between September 21-27. The exact date and times will be announced closer to the actual date. It will be held at "The Space Upstairs" in the Homewood area. "The Space Upstairs", which is run by "The Pillow Project", is on a top floor above Construction Junction. If you would like more information on either places, please follow the links.

I am looking for any individual who identifies as Trans.
I do not have a budget, so I will not be able to compensate you for your time. However, I am willing to give anyone who participates copies of their photos and I am willing to travel.
If you would like to help this project get off the ground, please contact me via myspace or by EbbaSchmid@yahoo.com. Thank you.
If you would like to check out my photography website with some of my work on it, here is the address.

FTM Book Vol. 1 = OUT NOW!!!!!
About FTM Book Vol. 1
FTM Book Vol 1: A Basic Introduction to Transman Life is an easy-to-understand, yet comprehensive primer on FTM issues such as:
What is an FTM?
How do FTMs see themselves?
Appearance
Stages in Transition
Surgeries Available
Common Personal Histories
Violence
Discrimination
Health Issues
Counseling
Relationships
Common Legal Issues
We've worked hard to help create definitions that will help you talk about trans issues with others, including terms for body parts unique to the FTM and by naming the stages of transitioning. This book is great for anyone who who is having trouble understanding the lifestyle or choices of a transperson. When we first began dating, we were shocked that there was no one place that Aaron could turn to show me "See, this explains what being an FTM means." We hope that this book will be a good start.
Best of all, when you order FTM Book Vol. 1: A Basic Introduction to Transman Life you can feel good knowing that sales of the book are being used to fund more research to help FTMs and their partners get through the challenges of their lives. This is a great book for youself and for anyone you know who could use a little more understanding. Also, you can help teach others about trans issues by donating copies to your local high schools, colleges, LGBT centers and libraries.

FTM Book Vol. 2 is also in the works (more focus on relationship issues etc), as well as a few other things to be announced...

I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
