Transportation met at Amherst College some years back.
Considering their options after graduation they decided to move to Chapel Hill North Carolina to continue their musical project. With the help local cubs and local rehearsal rooms and studios the group has matured in its endeavor to suggest a new rock landscape. While remaining sympathetic to a traditional genre this power trio seeks a contemporary relevance. To that end they have acheived success, says bassist and frontman Robbie Scruggs, by "underscoring the things we did like about the music we grew up with. Rather than trying to subvert or in someway refuse these elements." The result is a sound which is both recognizable and refreshing at the same time. Their debut album Daydreams is due to come out in the late summer. Transportation would also like to thank Nick and the boys up at Track and Field for years of friendship, guidance, and service. There would be no Transpo without you. Thanks guys

I have a written and signed pledge from Stevie that it will be ready to be heard by Christmas. Get to work, but not because I can't wait to rock out...for the people...and yourselves...the world needs it.
That WAS a phenomenal show! Keep that up and Robbie could pull off wearing a cape and rhinestone-encrusted cowboy boots on stage. Something dramatic. Ahhh, great times...

BTW, Stephen, there are some photos from The Showteens 11/06 show that I posted recently at FOTKI.com/TemplesofGrey . (I sent a couple of different messages a few days ago, but no one has checked in at that page in several days.) In a couple of pics, if you use your imagination, you can tell there's a drumset in the back, ...and there's sorta' like a human form behind them. Sorta'. ...More a giant vacuum tube at drive-thru teller windows has made a deposit behind the drums. Of course, from the paint blotches and air-duct dust design, if you squint your eyes, it also looks reindeer Rudolph sipping champagne with Dick Cheney. [pffst, that no-time reindeer.]
