This is no exception. Whether you like your punk with some psychedelic and guitar solos or you like your psychedelic to be more aggressive, this is the perfect mixture... Chrissakes pummel the listener with every conceivable heavy genre of the last 20 years. These kids mix the aggression and shrapnel piercing sound of AmRep and Trance Syndicate and mix it with hardcore and some beautiful stoner riffs. Think full stacks and loss of hearing. .... The sustained dishordance of Godflesh mixed with the best Seattle ever had to offer. These kids are too young to remember grunge and thank goodness for that. This is not a rehashing of the glory years but instead a creation that builds upon and makes you forget about flannel. This is basements, living rooms, sweaty crowds, beer, weed and a fuck you all attitude. (Trans Ruin) .... While known for their live show that often turns into a drunken dry hump, Hawks really impress musically. Featuring four veterans of the Atlanta music scene, Hawks are not just an all star band. Huge bass lines and drums are up front and in your face, manic vocals cover a wide range of raw emotion all while a screeching guitar thrusts in and out of the madness... Cafe Flesh is self described as "the Jesus Lizard making the Cows in vineyard." We have no idea what that means but these 4 guys from France can lay it down. We don't know what to say about these dudes. From the first time we heard them we knew they had to have a stateside release. Elements of blues, noise rock and punk all shine through in a beautiful mess. Now we need to get them to bring the live show over here...
