Born from New York’s Hudson Valley, the relentless Trapnote have seamlessly fused aggression, melody, passion, and an unmatched intensity to their music and live show. Having cut their teeth by sharing the stage with national acts such as Mudvayne, Chevelle, Chimaira, Soulfly, Ill Nino, Machine Head, Mastodon, 36 Crazyfists, Walls Of Jericho and many others, Trapnote have established a hardcore fanbase throughout New York and Connecticut.
The quintet is comprised of Vocalist Chris Sampayo, Drummer Mike Capobianco, bassist Dan Carlisle, and Guitarists Ian Aiello and Jay Carbone. In 2008 the band entered drummer Mike Capobianco’s home studio to slate their full length album “Becoming Forever.” The LP serves as a melting pot showcasing the band’s many different layers such as epic choruses, memorable riffs, thunderous grooves, and punishing breakdowns. The opening of “Cry For Autonomy,” hits you in the face with passionate vocals and machine-like riffage summing up what Trapnote is all about.
After experiencing a Trapnote show, there can be no doubt that that the band bleeds it’s music and lives to entertain. It’s off the cuff, devastating, and unforgettable. With beginnings tracing back to 2002, Trapnote has displayed a longevity and constant musical growth which is a rare occurrence in the contemporary music scene. Transcending trends in the metal scene has allowed the band to create an unmistakable identity for themselves. If you haven’t met or experienced Trapnote before, brace yourselves for their contagious onslaught as they continue to expand their musical empire.
