'Once I wasn't, then I was, now I ain't again...'
For a glorious decade, trash hosted the most insane, exuberant, joyful and downright messy parties London had seen for years. Across these ten years, and through three venues, Erol, James, Rory, Mavs and Jonjo put the best music on the planet into the ears of the most dedicated and fearless clubbers around. A riot of style and noise, trash was also renowned for the quality and breadth of the bands and DJs it invited to play live at the club - there were amazing sets from acts as diverse as Soulwax, Adult, Ziegenbock Kopf, Klaxons, Bloc Party, Whirlwind Heat, Les Georges Leningrad, Relaxed Muscle, Gonzales, Good Shoes, Peaches, Tussle, Scissor Sisters, Electric Six, Suicide, Campag Velocet, Brakes, Hot Chip, Zongamin, DFA 1979, LCD Soundsystem, Patrick Wolf, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tiga, Justice and Mylo amongst many others. The final night was held on the clubs 10th birthday, January 8th 2007, when a jam packed dancefloor sent the night on its way by going hell for leather for hours on end, and of course, this is exactly the thing that made the club so special - the crowd that came down every week to live it like they loved it - you! So, to every single one of you who has ever come out on a Monday to dance, drink, laugh, love, cry, court, sing, shout, shuffle, stamp, jump, cheer and clap; to everybody who dressed up in ways that only they could; to the quiet kids in the corners and the mental party monsters in the middle; to all the lovers; to everyone who should have grown up a long time ago and probably never will; to the Ravers, Rockers, Mods, Club Kids and Freaks; to all the beautiful girls and gorgeous boys; to everyone who nursed a Tuesday hangover and lied to their boss / teacher / parents; to all you wonderful, noisy b*stards, whether you only came once, or were there every week; to all of you..
