Start with enough youthful energy to move mountains, add one part southern
twang and one part infectious pop-rock hooks and you're starting to understand the band Traveling Sky. Between 1994-1998 Chicago based Traveling Sky successfully bridged the gap between
the roots-rock sound of groups such as The Black Crowes and Son Volt and alternative pop-rock bands like Vertical Horizon and Train, in the process creating a sound all their own.
By the time Traveling Sky officially formed in the summer of 1994, the members had already been harmonizing and writing songs together since they were kids. The results were what The Illinois Entertainer described as "voices big as the great outdoors". Chicago's Local Buzz Magazine hit it right on the head, citing the "drum beats and guitar riffs that are completely foot-stompin', and umphy vocals with great bluesy, gutsy harmonies that can please any crowd from here to the Rockies".
Releasing 5 albums worth of material in just a few years, Traveling Sky was as prolific as they were creative. All five Traveling Sky albums albums, Traveling Sky, Reflections, A History of Decay, This Too Shall Pass and Miles & Time are currently available for purchase through CD Baby or itunes!
