In the summer of 1997 guitarist Mick O'leary started what he called a modern blues band. As in the blues covers that the band play are from more contemporary artists, though the odd blues standard pops up in the set from time to time.
Some of the artists covered are:Coco Montoya, Blues'n'trouble, The fabulous thunderbirds, Sherman Robertson, Mike Morgan, and of Course, Albert Collins.
Having played the blues circuit in Dublin and Ireland for 10 years now, Travellin south intend now to aim for blues festivals in Ireland, Britain, Europe and beyond while still playing the regular venues such as JJ's, The Mezz, The Bleu Note etc.
Above are 4 songs from our repertoire:1)Travellin' south,2)Precious,3)You don't know what love is, and,4)Look what you've done. "The Blues" is good time music!

Hello to Travellin South. Thank you for joining us here on Myspace. I hope you enjoy our music. All the best for now from The Deans over here on the west coast! Keep it Country!!
Oh yeah - I remember you now! Great wee band you've got there. Nice guitar work. My only criticism would be that I'd like to hear more of the vocals in the mix. They seem to get drowned out a bit. I don't know the lassie's name, but she's got a really good bluesy voice. Reminds me a bit of Maggie Bell of Stone the Crows (showing my age there Ha! Ha!).
I've written to myspace about the blank screen problem, so hopefully we can get that sorted out before too long. Thanx again for getting in touch.
