Torsten Myhre Jensen & Mik Aidt - accompaigned by a long list of guest artists
Influences
The sound and spirit of our music has references to Western artists in the field of visual music such as Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream, and world music pioneers such as Peter Gabriel, 1 Giant Leap, Midival Punditz, Nitin Sawhney and Karsh Kale who have been great sources of inspiration for us, along with numerous other artists in the genres of chill out, lounge, ambient, psy trance and world music.
Travelog is a duo: Torsten and Mik. We are based in Copenhagen, Denmark. When performing live, our team is expanded with between five and seven musicians and dancers.
Our debut album from 2006, 'Balad Djemil', is inspired by a journey we did in Sudan in 1981. You can listen and purchase it at cdbaby.com/cd/travelog
The video-concert-show 'Fordi Verden Er Større' ('Because the World is Bigger'), which we composed in 2006, is inspired by musical traditions from four continents: Africa, Latin America, Australia and Asia.
School performance and workshops
Here is a two-minutes video clip from a recent performance at a Danish school, Ryslinge Friskole, which organised a 'Global Day' for 300 pupils and parents. The video shows a few clips from the performance, some pictures from the workshop, and the concluding speech (in Danish language) by headmaster Torben Vind:
"Some people went around interviewing dying patients.. but no one person said they regretted not making more money or working harder. They all seemed to say their regrets were not spending more time with the people they loved and not traveling more and relating more to the world and the planet.."
