Travel the Road began with a decision to follow an ancient call spoken by Jesus near the sea of Galilee. And He said to them, “Go into the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Down through the centuries, these words have echoed across time and bold adventures of the great commission have traveled to the ends of the earth to fulfill this calling… and even to this day, it continues. In 1998, Timothy Scott and William Decker set out on their first missionary expedition, armed only with their backpacks, Bibles, and a change of clothes, the word of God repeated in their hearts, “Go into the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” From the mysterious jungles of Laos to the snow covered mountains of the Himalayas, the two missionaries shared the good news with hundreds of tribes. Their journey spanned over 25 countries in the course of year. Upon returning home to America in 1999, they were already preparing for their next mission. As Tim and Will poured over maps and peoples of the world to journey to next, it wasn’t hard to realize there was a need for more workers. Luke 10:2 says “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Based upon that scripture, Travel the Road took form and a television series was born.
