If you observe a really happy man you'll find him building a boat, writing a symphony, educating his son, growing double dahlias in his garden. He won't be searching for happiness as if it were a collar button that has rolled under the radiator

You always have a choice but you forget that you have it. Do you remember the energy and
enthusiasm you had on the first day of your first job? You consciously chose to do the work you had gladly accepted to do. But then you gradually fell asleep to the choice you made, and the day became "I have to" go to work, instead of "I want to" go to work. You forgot to see all the opportunities which come with work - opportunities like learning, nourishing and being nourished by others, developing new relationships, expanding your personal capacity. Instead you decided it was just something that you had to do to 'get the money'. This is why most people are sleep-walking through their lives, and they dont know it. The solution, choose your work every day, put the energy of love into your relationships...every day, even if you dont particularly like your job or the people around you. And you'll be amazed at how your life transforms. When you choose to put love into what you do, the universe will move heaven and hell to let you do what you love...

I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. Its just that the translations have gone wrong. By: John Lennon..

A compassionate person develops an eye for spotting the qualities that make each person special. Even when others are at their lowest ebb, it is possible to help them restore their self-belief by keeping a firm, clear vision of their goodness and specialities. Taking a gently encouraging approach, I must never give up on anyone...

I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I do know that when we die and it comes time for God to judge us, he will NOT ask, How many good things have you done in your life?, rather he will ask, How much love did you put into what you did? By: Mother Teresa

MY SWEET ANGEL MOTHER EVANGELINE PASSED AWAY FROM THIS LIFE ON FEB 16TH............
Humans have this idea that God shows up in only
one way in life. That’s a very dangerous idea.
It stops you from seeing God all over, If you think God looks only one way or
sounds only one way or is only one way, you’re going to look right past Me night
and day. You’ll spend your whole life looking for God and not finding Her. Because
you’re looking for a Him. I use this as an example.
It has been said that if you don’t see God in the profane and the profound, you’re
missing half the story. That is a great Truth.
God is in the sadness and the laughter, in the bitter and the sweet. There is a
divine purpose behind everything—and therefore a divine presence in everything.
Who I'd like to meet:
If your days seem filled with unwanted negative feelings, there is only one cure. When they come, choose them. Dont ask why, dont wonder how, dont fight them and never put yourself down for having them. But most of all never blame someone else for how you feel. If you do, it means you are still fast asleep and your choice is to be a victim. When the feelings come, even big disturbing emotional feelings say, "I choose this feeling" and know it comes because of something you have thought or done in the past, perhaps a certain belief that you have learned or an attachment that is threatened. Choice does not mean you want the feelings, but it does mean you are taking responsibility for them. And that is the beginning of self mastery. It is the first step to the healing and resolving of your emotions. But only the first step. Try this today and then ask yourself what the next step might be. If you are really interested to know, you will come to know!
Unconditionally Accept
We all find occasion to reject and resist another person. We all like to put up a fight against anything we dislike on the evening news as we spectate the world. But we forget that when we decide we will resist something or somebody, either mentally or physically, we only empower the object of our resistance, either in reality or in our own minds. If you want to enjoy the ability to influence, always start with acceptance. If you want to disarm another begin with acceptance. If you want to encourage and empower another to change, start with acceptance. Don't make it conditional. Otherwise it's just resistance disguised as acceptance, and you are still trying to control them. And we can all smell a controller...can't you?
I am sorry for the long absence. I have been dealing with some technical issues with this new computer that I bought a couple months back. I hope that they are now all resolved. ______________________________________________________
I draw inspiration for my weekly thoughts form may different things. This inspiration happened to come from a TV show.
“So live your life. Live every day and know that the future is unwritten. Make the most of it.”
At first I found it difficult to find a photo that would depict this quote then with a little nudge from a friend I found the perfect photo that depicts me the photographer making the most of the photographic opportunities that I am given, and the subjects of the photo doing what they enjoy. I hope that you agree that I picked the perfect photo.
I hope that you all had a great thanksgiving, and I hope that you have a great week to come.
Many have heard the saying “No man is an island”, but some have a hard time grasping the concept that it teaches.
What does it mean?
I think that it is meant for the overly independent among us. It reminds us that we are social creatures. It reminds us that we need the help and support of others, and that we need to be there to help and support the people around us when they need it.
I hope that you have a great week. Please don’t be an island.
These pictures were taken on a cloud day right after a rain storm. Even on the dreariest of days, I find some beauty to photograph.
We also need to find some beauty in every day of our lives. We may be going through some tough times, but as long as we are able to find the flower in the midst of the rainstorm, we know that we can get through any situation.
Most of us are capable of flying to great heights in our lives. But, like this bird, we do not fly very far off the ground. Why do some of us not fly high into the sky and reach our full potential?
I know that the biggest reason that I do not fly high is FEAR! FEAR OF MAKING MISTAKES, FEAR OF NOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH, FEAR OF NOT BEING WORTHY, AND FEAR OF FAILING.
Fear is limiting, and crippling and it hold you back from reaching your goals. When you feel fear that you know is holding you back from accomplishing your goals there is only one thing you need to do.
Stand against the fear and shout in you mind: “I AM NOT AFRAID!” If you do this often enough, one day you will be bigger than your fear and it will no longer be your master.
Many of you are probably wondering where my thought and photo postings have been. My 5 year old computer that I use to post my photos finally needed replacing. It took a while to load all my software and get back to an operational status. Here is the thought and photo that I planned to post before my unfortunate hardware failure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes we decide to stray off the path that has been set before us. Most of the time we realize that leaving the path was a bad decision. Eventually we get so deep into the “woods” that it’s hard to find the path again.
There is hope however! We all come with a built in “compass”. If we close our eyes and just listen to this “compass”, the direction that we need to go to get back on our path will be made clear.
I hope that you have a great weekend and a great week to come.

How are you my new friend? Hope your day is going along well for you. We finally are looking at some sunshine here! It's about time, but chilly, in the 40s. I miss my 70s and 80s and have felt cold for days!! This morning I caved in and turned the heat on and OH HOW GOOD IT FEELS!!!! haa haaa!!! The weather service issued a "deep freeze" warning for us for tonight, with temps supposedly going to be in the 20s. I am quite sure the same is true for your area as well. I'm not ready for this, but then I never am. It also means I have a job to do this afternoon! Hauling back inside all of the houseplants I kicked out to the front porch this Spring!! Every year for years now we go through this ritual. Out they go in the Spring where the flourish in the warm months, and then back in again in the Fall where it takes them a few weeks to get adjusted to less light. They do tho and I begin to live in a Jungle again for a few months. I wouldn't have it any other way tho. I love my houseplants and need that "green" with me all year to help me feel "centered". I have some pics of some of them in my "Front Porch" album on my page if you ever want to check it out a minute. Well girl, I wish you a bright, sunshiny day and I hope you enjoy every minute of it! Stop by soon and visit me!! (((hugs)))
Our Lives are usually as stressful and chaotic as we allow them to be. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and just do things a certain way. We never realize that there may be a better and less stressful way of doing things.
Sometimes just doing something relaxing will allow us to clear our head. That way, when we enter the stressful situation again; we may be more open to a better way of handling things.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a great week to come.

All too often we stretch ourselves too thin. Some of us, like me, tend to have way too many things going on in our lives at any one time. If we try to concentrate our efforts on too many different things at once the result could be disastrous.
Confucius once said “If you chase two rabbits, both will escape”.
I hope that you have a great weekend. I also hope that in the coming week that you do not end up “chasing too many rabbits”.
Sometimes it seems as if we have tucked our goals so far into the back of our minds that they appear to us as lights in the distance. The doorway to achieving our goals is still wide open, so we need to run through it and bring those goals closer to the front of our minds, and closer to becoming a reality.
I hope that you a have a great weekend and a great week to come.
As we age we often forget that life is supposed to be fun. When we are young, fun is what we are about. This is somehow lost in the time of our lives.
If we find something that connects us with this lost youthful exuberance, we should keep doing it even if someone tells us otherwise. It is this connection with our youth that I believe will get us though some of the toughest times of our lives.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a great week to come.
An old saying says “You can not dig yourself out of a hole”. You may not be able to dig yourself out of a hole, but given the right motivation you can propel yourself out like a rocket and reach new heights never before thought possible.
I hope that you have a great weekend and a great week to come.
Sometimes we try to make a change but we don't really feel like we are doing anything different. We sometimes feel as though what we are doing really doesn't even matter to anyone.
I can tell you something! What you are doing matters!! You matter!! I know that sometimes change is hard, but if you stay on the right path, it will take you to some really wonderful places.
We are all searching for a peace and tranquility in our lives. Peace means different things to different people. It could mean lying in the sun by the pool, or hiking though the woods, or it could mean finding that beautiful place and being there when no one else is around.
The peace and tranquility that we seek is not really found in any special place at any special time. It is just a state of mind that we put ourselves in when we find such place and such times.
That said, don’t you think that we could also find peace and tranquility in other places and other times? I think that it is possible, and it just takes a little brain power on our part, but it can be done.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a very peaceful, tranquil week.
Sometimes in life it seems as though we are caught in an unending loop. We try to make positive changes in our lives, but we end up right back where we started.
I am speaking from personal experience here. I can tell you that positive change is possible, and that you can break out of those seemingly unending loops. Just keep trying, and eventually when the timing is right, you will make that change that you desire.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a great loop-free week.
I was reading something recently and it reminded me of something that happened to me in my childhood. When I was growing up I had a big maple tree in my back yard. That tree was where I had a swing, and it was also my favorite tree to climb in.
Now one of the first times that I climbed in this tree I made the mistake of climbing really high in the tree, hanging from one of the limbs, and then looking down. BIG MISTAKE!! I was frozen with fear. I gripped the tree limb so tight that my knuckles turned white. My best friend saw me hanging there and he told me “let go, and you’ll be all right”. I hung on even tighter. Then finally I grew so tired that the only thing that I could do was let go. Of course, the height was not as much as I thought. I picked myself up off the ground, brushed myself off, and I was fine.
This story illustrates what happens in our lives. We try to do things our way and get into trouble. Then, when we have to face the fear of our situation we hold on with a white-knuckle grip. We must understand that we have to sometimes just “let go”, and we will be OK.
I hope that you have a great weekend and a great week.
