       Travis's Blurbs
    About me:
There's not so much that I could describe here that wouldn't be better off just trying to piece together what I've written in the blog entries. Besides, this prompts you to read more, which in turn increases my hit count, which financially means... well, absolutely nothing I suppose. Which indicates a profound lack of thinking things through.

During the day, (and let's not kid ourselves, late into the night as well) I work for a game and technology company... which in reality means that during the majority of the day I attempt to pick up the pieces and get them in some kind of order. When I'm not paying attention someone (likely someone nearby) scatters the pieces again. To this end, I hired a former Army veteran of Iraq to help discover these people and eliminate them. To date however, all he has managed to accomplish is losing to my designer in frequent games of Soul Calibur. I am surrounded by good people, and a few lousy people, which I suppose sums up any place of employment.

In between all of those adventures, I attempt to do creative things. This usually amounts to writing here, staring mindlessly at the wall waiting for inspiration to strike me, or pining away for the latest technological gadget that I don't actually need. But, that smell of light electricity and warm plastic is too much of a temptation to miss. I'm also a very fast reader and (I sadly admit) quite of an obsessive compulsive combined with a fairly strong dose of being stubborn. This means I read everything and I need to be careful of what I begin, because quitting isn't an option. Anyone who thinks I've described good traits has likely been mislead somewhere along the line.

But overall, I've been ultimately quite fortunate to find myself in a position where I am by and large surrounded by very clever, decent people. This is a nice shift from a long stint in my life when I was surrounded by fairly stupid, self-absorbed people who lacked the good common sense to understand valor from vain. Or, as Peter would say, shallow and pedantic. This shift has briefly renewed my otherwise dark view of a society worth putting up with, so I'm quite appreciative.

Otherwise, I'm always interested in different type of shirts that break up the blue/kahki schema, attempting to unravel the mysteries of clicking clocks, scolding those who can't properly aim into the urinal and the occasional poorly timed humor.

    Who I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet people with ideas. Do you have an idea?

Otherwise, that's fine. Many people's ideas tend to wander anyway. In our ever-connecting global whatever it is, here are a number of SNS widgets for various bits of nonsense:

To be honest, i'd rather be in the office. Nothing like having a little BBQ, filling your massive cooler for the week, allowing your brother and sister to participate and have some friends over...then wake up to find the cooler missing.

I may end up in jail yet. Anger level, very high.

Looking up signifies hope and a branded tee signifies belonging, so you've cast youself as a bit of a hopeful joiner. Interesting...

I cast myself as smug and seedy.

I figured if I wasn't going to use a picture of a young girl or a cool celebrity to draw visitors to my profile, I might as well be honest.

    Thanks for being friend #1!

Put it to the test my friend. And allow me to quote a great man:

"There is only one tactical principle which is not subject to change. It is to use the means at hand to inflict the maximum amount of wound, death, and destruction on the enemy in the minimum amount of time."

Or if you don't like that one, perhaps this one will do.

"Just drive down that road, until you get blown up"

Hey if you are ever in Japan and you see another white guy on the train yell out "Matt" or "Brian." Seriously. I just had two friends of mine (one that works for Boeing) run into each other on a train in Japan, both were on business trips and both knew me (and had met each other through different social gatherings we have hosted. Crazy. I should send you a picture in case you run into them. :)
