Travis was born in Searcy, Ar.A small town about 45 miles north of Little Rock. His parents knew early on that he had an ear for music. While his friends were outside playing he would be in his room for hours at a time listning to his parent's record collection that consisted of Merle Haggard,Marty Robbins,George Jones,CCR,The Guess Who,etc...and as he listened he would be banging or tapping on whatever was available. At an early age his parents took him to see a local piano player in town by the name of Kenny Kidd, who played at a local theater.Travis became obsessed with playing piano.Seeing how obsessed his son was,his father bought him a small keyboard from Wal-Mart,which became the begining of his self teaching. He began to ask for pointers and advice from "Kidd" which was still his influence at that time. After practicing day in and day out for a year or so,Travis began to attend a local dance hall called "The Country Music Connection" where "Kidd" was playing at that time."Kidd" began to get Travis up for a song or two each night sitting beside him on the piano stool. That gave him his first taste of playing in front of a live audience. He was hooked.Soon after that he began getting up to sing and play a few songs on his own.Eventually "Kidd" would move on to bigger things leaving the piano slot open.Travis was approached by the singer/band leader and asked him to join the band full time.Blown away by the idea of playing and making money,he accepted.Travis went on to play there for a couple years and along the way won several talent shows including a state tidal for his piano playing and singing. As he progressed he began to play with better bands and playing better venues throughout the United States such as Billy Bob's in Fort Worth,Tx which is known as the world's largest Honkey-Tonk.For a few years he continued to play the club circuit.Still hungry to move on to bigger things Travis decided to make the big move to Nashville in October of 2007.Soon after moving there he began to play downtown on historical lower Broadway and Printers Alley. He did so for 6 months until he was approached one night by Clint Newcom of Billy Currington's band and was invited to audition for the keyboard/backup vocals position.Travis excepted and after auditioning was hired on to join the band. You might remember Currington from such number one hits as "Must be doing something right","Good Directions","Don't",and "People Are Crazy".Not to mention many more chart topping songs.Mobley spent 2008 touring with Currington and in that time had the chance to achieve some of his life long goals such as appearing multiple times on the Grand Ole Opry including a national televised appearence at the Ryman which aired on GAC.Not to mention other TV appearences with Currington on shows such as GAC's "Country Music Across America" and CMT's "Insider".You can now see Travis out on the road with Columbia recording artist/hit songwriter Jerrod Niemann and occasionally subbing dates with numerous acts including RCA artist Chris Young,Curb artist Lee Brice, and Stradivarius artist Locash Cowboys. The best is still yet to come for Travis and he has no plans of quitting anytime soon.
