People whose musicianship I respect and admire:

"Travis is the embodiment of what happens when you take the Rhythm Knowledge concept to heart and stick to a disciplined practice method."
-- Mike Mangini

"Travis practices in the van, at the venue before and after our set, at the hotel before he sleeps and after waking up. He's insane. I've never known anyone with such dedication to music, to their instrument. It is truly an honor to play music with him. Plus, he's super ripped. He's like the Terminator."
-- Zack Ordway

"Mind blowing! Keep up the great work and push the limits of drumming... your name will be greatly heard of. All your hours spent practicing paid off!"
-- Peter Wildoer

"Travis Orbin is like having the program Superior Drummer 2.0 in your studio, only you don't have to program in MIDI; just push record."
-- Taylor Larson

"Very encouraging."
-- Pete Peterson

"Travis is easily one of the top 10 most impressive drummers I've ever seen. He manages to perfectly blend all of his influences to create a style that's completely and unmistakably his own. It would be criminal for talent like Travis' to not go renowned. I guarantee that within 8 years, he will be the next big name in drumming."
-- Casey Sabol

"I'm checking out your MIDI tunes... you're out of your mind."
-- Tosin Abasi

"Gee Travis... you have done stuff with my book that I haven't even done. Hey, you sound great. Look me up when you're in LA... I want a lesson."
-- Frank Briggs

"I've been fortunate to be in a band with Travis Orbin for quite some time. I have been witness to amazing linear technique and ambidexterity that is nothing short of uncanny. Travis sets a new standard in playing the drum set and will be copied by generations of new players; he is paving the way for a new breed of modern technical drummer."

Here are just a handful of bands/projects that I
have been involved with over the last few years:
Ever Since Radio The Murder Cadence Ascend In Red Well-Wishing And Lilies

I used to play drum set in Periphery. Give 'em an audial gander, for they are terrific.

I greatly enjoy doing session work; please check the corresponding blog.

I've got an amazing girlfriend named Arin and an amazing band named Sky Eats Airplane!

Isn't there supposed to be a 'Who I'd like to meet' section? Perhaps that is reserved for civilian accounts. At any rate, I'd like to meet artists with which I wish to collaborate. In specificity: Ron Jarzombek, Tosin Abasi, Mike Patton, Michael Manring and Pete Peterson (for starters).

Just have to say, you're a pretty good drummer.  Not many drummers of this decade have really come out with creativity, and it's good to see someone even kinda from the area doing crazy things.  Just had to wonder though, out of the videos i have seen, what brought you to the set up that you use?  It seemed to have a portnoy/roddy approach, but now you have two hi-hats and two floors. It's not quite something you see everyday.  This is something that i would expect to see as a representation of a marching tenor drum.  Also how long did it take you to build up enough independence to use the two hi-hats?

Thank you for your kind words. If I am satisfied by my work, I shall record the piece for a video only if it's completed what isn't the case at the moment...
Maybe can you correct my defects? Or compliment the fact that you inspire more and more musicians ;)

in three months

Ah i see. Do you own your place or rent it? have you sound proofed the rooms or something?

I find it increasingly harder to find a place i can play as much as i want which is practically all day.
I know people who have gone as far as to rent out a storage area to play in (cause nobody's ever around to complain and i mean you are paying for it)

So, if it's not too much hassle, any way you could give a basic rundown about your recording equipment? I love the sound you achieve. And I read someone talking about the way you set your demon drives up, I'm getting some soon and wanted to know how you set them up?
