Ron Deshaies has been doing charity photography in Charlotte for about 10 years, as a way of giving back to the community. He may be best known as the Palm Night photographer for the Family Center. His talent may be viewed at www.palmnight.org . Ron has given his time, talent, the prints, and the negatives or CDs of the event. Ron's daughter, Sonya Renee, died of Cystic Fibrois when she was only 3 1/2 years old. He went to the CF Foundation and offered his help in 1995. They needed someone to photograph their fundraising events and Ron immediately volunteered, refusing to take any payment for his time or pictures. Since then, he has offered his services to any charity that would ask for his help, saving the charity the usual cost for a photographer and prints. From that point on, his work has shown up on the mantels and walls of people who have been photographed by Ron at various events.
He has also been published in The Charlotte Observer, South Park Magazine, Charlotte Weekly, Creative Loafing, Rhinoceros Times, and other local publications. To name a few of the other charities Ron has volunteered his services for include The Family Center, Juvenile Diabetes, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Pin Stripes(ALS), Bobby Phills Foundation, March of Dimes,The Kristen Foundation,Saint Judes,Florence Crittenton Services and other charities that have asked for his assistance. Treasured Events of Charlotte was formally founded in 2005, so Ron could make his love of photography and making people happy with the pictures he gave to them a livelihood, not just a hobby. Ron will continue doing work for charities, upon request.
Ron is now the Photographer form The Charlotte Checkers and The Charlotte Knights minor league teams also contributes weekly to The Charlotte Weekly, My School Rocks Magazine,City Political Magazine, The Meck Magazine, Cats and Dogs of Charlotte and 7zero4Events.com

The questioner's first thought was, 'That's too simple!' But upon reflecting over her own life she recalled how she thought a bigger house would make her happy, but it didn't! She thought a better paying job would make her happy, but it hadn't.
When did she realize her greatest happiness? Sitting on the floor with her children, playing games, eating pizza or reading a story, a simple gift from God.
Now you know it too! We can't depend on people or things to make us happy.
Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.
Trust HIM! And now I pass the Secret on to you! So once you get it, what will you do?
YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too! That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU! But it's not really a secret... We just have to believe it and do it... Really trust God!
