Sounds Like
Five drunk blokes in a pub, trying to play rock on folk instruments (or is that folk on rock instruments?). Led Zeppelin playing Roger Whittaker covers in a pub brawl with the Leningrad Cowboys & an out of tune accordion.
Treebeard was formed in 1998 by Chris & Paul McMahon & Paul Chisnell (of Sheffield progressive rock band Haze), with Gordon Walker (of the Anthill Mob & guest on Chris & Paul's World Turtle CD 'Wilderness of Eden') and Chris Jellis (of Old Pekuliar - folk duo with Paul Chisnell).
Originally called Acoustic Haze, the band play a range of folk, rock, pop & even country songs, as well as Haze & World Turtle originals and Irish & Russian tunes.
In 2002 the band released their first CD 'Heavy Wood' on Gabadon Records, which featured their usual mix of original, contemporary and traditional material.

Plans for a second album were delayed when I lost a lot of the audio files in a computer crash, but I am just starting to recover them & record new ones, so it shouldn't be much longer!
The band are now regularly joined on stage by Ceri Ashton, fantastic flute player from Derwenna and Hiraeth. She is also featured on the new album.
