Catherine was invited to record a demo of some of her songs in Paris by Ridha Beghila after he heard her play live. Whilst in Paris, she did a couple of gigs with Ridha & the Parisien band LuLu.
Gigging in London and the West Country saw Jody Turner join the fray and a selection of different percussionist. She co-wrote some new material with Jody one of which she and Ridha subsequently recorded in Paris (Freedom).
Introduced to bassist (the late) Garry Jones they put together a full band and giving the sound a rockier feel gigged for a short while.
The name Treen was dreamt up when working for a second stint with Jody as a duo; rather than use just her name for gigs, they decided instead to be called Treen, a nickname of Catherine's.
Catherine has been gigging again in 2009, a little with a band and Ridha as well as solo.
Refugee is dedicated to the memory of the late George Frydberg.
Yo Treenasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. The cat is the one on my profile, she was killed. Though she was old, she used to sit between my girlfriend and I and not allow my girlfriend near me LOL!!!! She was a one person cat. I don't think I'm a deft guitarist, I think she was deaf!
