If you adhere to the notion that music is intentional sound Treiops Treyfid has been making music since he was 1 second old. These early sounds were not recorded at the time and are lost to history. However, many of Treyfid's more organized sounds since that time have been recorded.
More an artist who makes music rather than a pure musician his first recordings of note were for projects at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. where he was a student. Later with the help of a Tascam Port 1, Treyfid became part of the "Cassette Culture". His audio experiments and oddly rhythmic music was recorded under the name Triptic Of A Pastel Fern. TOAPF produced many cassettes, along with an LP and CD.
During this time of experimentation and excitement quite by accident Treiops met Justin Chearno at a bookstore where they were both working. Chearno and Treyfid started recording songs together. But, it was apparent a full group was needed in order to fully realize their ideas. So a band was formed that later became known as Pitchblende. Pitchblende had an active history of over 4 years, which included 3 albums, several singles, and almost 200 live shows.
Toward the end of Pitchblende's tenure Treyfid took his first steps into a solo endeavor, which would lead to 3 singles and a CD entitled "REACH THE EXPLOSION!" released in late 1998. "REACH" which could be considered a transitional piece sported a much more New Wave edge than the noisy Pitchblende but all the weirdness, impressionistic vocals, and progressive aspects remained and were accentuated.
In mid-1999 Treyfid moved to the west coast. In Los Angeles he took a break from his solo endeavors for a few years, instead concentrating on art. In 2003 and 2004 he started to produce music again this time with the aid of digital recording. These visionary new songs, influenced by personal challenges, and a completely different approach to process have appeared on a full-length CD called "Feelings of Unreality" released by Post Fact Records, a Washington D.C. label in early 2005.
Since the Feeling album Treyfid has had islands of busyness in the music realm producing songs here and there that are uploaded to the TREYFID'S SOUNDFORMATION HIGHWAY and are totally FREE for downloading.

Dear Mr. Treyfid, I am a listener of your music, and do very much enjoy it. Presently I find it somewhat necessary to let said be known to you, the artist. My CD library does include a modest handful of recordings bearing your graces. Up until a half-year ago, I only knew of you through your brilliant group of yesteryear, Pitchblende, which remains one of my all-time favorite used-record-store-blind-discoveries. It is a joy to be able to explore all that you have been up to since. With all due respect and admiration, Jeff
