Taking a cue from the legendary Love Parade in Germany, Donny Benavidez has immersed himself in all aspects of the underground dance music scene. What started out as weekend entertainment has blossomed into something that has taken over every aspect of his life.
As a part of Terminal Entertainment and Covert Operations (Dallas), Trek has helped promote and bring in several top drum and bass acts to Texas like Total Science, DJ Rectangle, Future Prophecies, Hive, Photek, Dara, Reid Speed, Mathematics, Vegas, Artificial Intelligence, Stereo Storm Trooper and Glitch of Apparatus. He has also dug in the trenches, running his own drum and bass weekly in the sleepy college town of Denton, Texas and in Dallas as well.
Donnys current focus is in music production and learning to play live instruments. He is reaching out to a few other genres and trying to bring some drum and bass influence into them. He is also learning the art of live sound through Dallass Valence Group who specializes in the art and design of booming sound systems for night club events.
Trek is currently a resident dj in Dallass longest running weekly, Battletech which represents all styles of drum and bass and hip-hop. He also runs with a gnarly group of guys who call themselves the Dirty Alien Project. DAP consists of a bunch of music heads from Dallas who happen to love drum and bass and come from a hip-hop background. Essentially they spend most of their time making music, chilling out in their spaceships, and delivering uppercuts.
