Il progetto Trem Azul nasce nel 2001 come laboratorio di studio e sperimentazione di forme musicali che, partendo dalla musica brasiliana, si contaminano via via con altri stili e sonorità.
Il percorso, dalla bossa nova al samba cançao, dal jazz elettrico al tropicalismo, sfocia in un disco di brani originali che viene pubblicato nel 2006 dalla Wide Sound e scelto dalla Egea per la sua distribuzione , che si chiama “Trem Azul”.
I Trem Azul si sono esibiti in importanti festival e jazz club collaborando di volta in volta con importanti musicisti del panorama jazzistico nazionale come Stefano “Cocco” Cantini, Fabrizio Mandolini, Fabrizio Bosso, Luca Bulgarelli, Maurizio Rolli...
