Influences
Trembling Earth is based the music and songwriting of John Heath. John Heath has taken great care in his writing to draw influence from all the great Classic Rock Artists, and really make something original and new out of it. John's changes styles from one song to the next. You might hear one original song that reminds you of the Neil Young sound like his "Broketown", then one that reminds you of Little Feat like John's "Dixie Woman", then one that reminds you of Talking Heads like "Times", then Beatles like John's "Maddie Mudpie", then the Eric Clapton-esqe "Reno". He just mixes it all up and keeps mixing it up. Other influences are Tom Waits, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelen, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Syd Barrett, Johnny Cash, Drive-By-Truckers, Widespread Panic, Bloodkin (Danny Hutchins), Phish, Queens of the Stone Age, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, The Allman Brothers Band, Canned Heat, Blind Melon, Woody Guthrie, Vic Chestnut, and if you write something else thats good, that might also soon be an influence.

John Heath Acoustic 2005
Trembling Earth was founded by guitarist/songwriter John Heath in the year 2001 in Athens, GA. Currently Trembling Earth is based out of Ann Arbor, MI.
John Heath began writing music in 1989 in his home-town, Waycross, GA. He did his first ever solo concert at Young Harris College Spring Fest in 1994 and began doing open mics at Eddie's Attic in Decatur the next year.
His first performance with a band was in the Summer of 1997 at an outdoor party called Cool Thang. The band was un-named to keep an air of mysteriousness about the event. This was the first time the music of John Heath had been done in a Psychedelic Rock band format.
In 2001 Trembling Earth, named after the Native American Swamplands in Southern Georgia, began doing shows around Athens, GA.
After five years of line-up changes, John relocated to Michigan. Trembling Earth was reformed in September 2005 in Ypsilanti, MI and is currently based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Look for us on tour in the Fall.
