   About TRENDKILL

This profile was edited with Thomas' Myspace Editor V3.2b

Trendkill consists of five of south Florida's most talented rockers including Kev (vocals/guitar), Markus (bass/vocals), Papa (drums), Mikie (keyboard/backup vocals/errant sounds), and Johnny (rhythm guitar). Brought together by a common passion for music and musical expression, the guys have formed somewhat of a brotherhood within the band. They've all been friends since grade school and have been practicing and performing together since 1998. It is that brotherly closeness that truly sets them apart from other bands and said closeness can easily be seen during performances. The band has steadily grown in both confidence and skill, producing heavy yet melody-laden, radio-friendly songs. Trendkill's live energy is unique and intense- just the way we like it!

SubscribeBlog Snip

Since the release of the last record entitled "Pax Americana", Trendkill has built a loyal local fanbase which continues to expand with shows throughout the area. They spent their efforts in 2003 spreading their music state-wide, creating a strong regional following. This powerful quintette has opened for bands such as 7 Mary 3, Nonpoint, Hatebreed, Big Sky, Biohazard, Agnostic Front, Otep, E.Town Concrete, and prior to 2003- King's X. Trendkill started strong in 2004 by opening for Endo & Adema and most recently, Abloom- on the West Palm Beach kickoff of the Zippo Hot Tour- as well as headlining shows at premeir sofla venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe and The Factory.

The band's name is derived from their belief in being unique and writing from their core. While trying to stay in the mainstream of radio-friendly hard rock, the guys take pride in the fact that their music does not sound like [and cannot be referenced to] any other bands' sound. They feel that the bands that do stand the test of time are those which strive to maintain their individuality and aren't afraid to take chances and be themselves. Trendkill is currently in the studio working on their third record, which is by far their best and most marketable music to date. The new album reflects the evolution of the group's writing ability and ever-evolving musicianship. The new songs showcase their unique style, powerful vocals, and tight groove-oriented rhythms.

Thank You

Venues for local shows have different standards toward how or why they pay their acts. Some clubs even have the "pay to play" policy, where if a band does not draw enough people and the bar doesn't make enough on alcohol sales, then the band is responsible for comping them for their "losses."

This upcoming Friday night August 25th, Mindspin is playing a show at The Talent Farm in Pembroke Pines. While it is NOT a "pay to play" venue, they do have a strict policy on paying their acts. If a band wants to get paid, they must draw out at least 20 people. In that case, the band will get $60. Then $3.00 more dollars per person over that 20 person minimum.

They need people to show up. Without friends coming out and supporting them, the boys wont be able to put gas in their cars. They can't produce the CDs. They cant do hardly anything. By going to local shows, we contribute a big part to culture in general. All of us help to keep artists' passions alive. By going out, we can support a good cause. For the love of art.

Friday night, August 25th, The Talent Farm, Pembroke Pines, 7:00 pm, $8.00

Please come out for Mindspin and show them love. They need everyones help and support. Help keep the art alive. Plus they'll be giving some free demo CDs out, but they go quickly and considering our funds, may be the last batch for a while.

Much love and much respect,
Not only on behalf of Battle Axis, but all of the local bands on this show and within the tri-county area...
Thank you.
