Latin music hasn’t seen this kind of diversity for some time, let alone from just three people. Yet TRES is able to achieve a unique balance of various styles within the Latin genre, mixing their skills and diverse backgrounds into a sound unlike anything you’ve heard before. Their rapidly escalating popularity is responsible for their growth out of Austin, TX where the trio is based and got their start. Combine that with the reviews (not one of them negative) of their debut CD “TRES,” and you’ll see how this band has set their own stage for success - and if you haven’t heard of them yet, you will.
Consisting of guitarist Kurt David Phillips, bassist Mike Rosch and percussionist Noah Mosgofian (Noah recently replaced Shango Dely who appears on the CD), TRES continues to play a pivotal role in the further development of Latin and Brazilian jazz in Texas and in the United Sates. Their live performances are intimate yet exhilarating - a combination of emotion that is not easily achieved. Their debut recording “TRES” features thirteen tracks of original music from the trio, and takes you on a musical journey around the globe.
Each member of TRES has a background as a professional musician, recording artist, and composer. Together they produce exceptional instrumentals that paint musical colors from around the world. Transcending the limitations of a typical trio, TRES often sounds like a four or five piece group even with just three performers. Don’t be fooled by the fact they are a 3-piece or that their live shows are so personal, this group’s sound and emotion can fill a concert hall.
It was nice to wave "hello" and hear you playing at Neiman's again... How you make the time go by... I hope all is well and beautiful with all of you.... XoXoXo
