About me:
All links in the text below will open in a 'New Window'

I'm a great fan of Open Mic Music and have created a website to show all the Open Mic Music venues in and around Bristol at www.open-mic.me.uk

There is a Myspace page on the site, so if you are an Open Mic performer, or organiser, please become a Friend of "Bristol Open Mic Music" Myspace site.

I'm a Photographer and Web-designer and do other IT related work for my living. I live in a pleasant environment in Hotwells in a house overlooking the Bristol Harbour at Pooles Wharf in Hotwells.

My main interests are Motorcycling / Scootering / Messing about in boats / Visiting Pubs, Clubs, Bars and Cafés where there's pleasant live music, mainly Open Mic Music events, of which there are plenty in central Bristol at the time of writing.

All of my MySpace "Friends" listed below, are actual friends or contacts in real life, who are in some way involved with the local Bristol area Open Mic Music or 'Acoustic' Scene, so apologies if I don't accept your request to be a 'Friend', as I need to have met you first!!

Hi Trevor,

Nice to finally hear you play and sing rather than just seeing you behind a pint or a camera! Looking forward to playing and staying at the party, should be a lot of fun!

Take care, keep keeping it live!

Howard.

Hey Trevor, Thanks so much for helping to set up our Myspace site. We *know* we should have done it years ago, and we *know* there's no excuses we can give, except we've been learning more tunes.

Thanks for listening to our music and making positive comments, AND for the photos as well. I guess we owe you lots of drinks over the months ahead.

I can see from your other Myspace friends the kind of music you like, and I'm glad we can provide those same blends of tunes.

All the best. Sam and the guys.

Look what you guys missed if you didn't go to the Withywood 'Acoustic Evening' on 17th July.

Photos below of the Withywood Church Hall 'Acoustic Evening" organised by James Slater (Highlighted names are hyperlinked to their Myspace sites ... they open in a 'New Window')

Below ... Phil Dunster, Cathy Judge and Johnny Francis opened the proceedings.

Below ... Next up ... Steve Graham .... Steve always plays and sings with his eyes closed, unless he's posing, and in his words "I don't pose" !!

Below ... Mike Scott performs one his self-penned humorous numbers.

Below ... OUCH ... who dropped that on me 'ead ?

Below ... One of those "Y.M.C.A." type of songs which required James and a young lady from the audience to perform some 'mime' actions to match Mike's words.

Below ... The Willbees ... Humph Bennett and John Blake sing their harmonious songs.

Below ... Tribute band "I never Will-Bees" came on next. They look remarkably like the guys above !!

Below ... The Withywood Church Hall setting. A nice venue. Lots ot Car-parking spaces. Nice natural acoustics (only one small amp used by one performer). A table-full of refreshments just out-of-shot, tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes, filled-rolls, what more could one want for a great music venue ?
