All the music I soaked up, growing up, under the bright sun and dark clouds of Memphis Tennessee. The neighborhoods, schools, streets, bars & clubs......the hot humid weather, eating Bar B Q, running trout lines in the middle of the night on the Mississippi River, riding my bike, cruising Frayser Boulevard in my first car, and playing gigs in a different club every night of the week. For a young musician all of that had a profound and lasting affect! Then there was David Bowie, Al Green, John Lennon & the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Gibbons & ZZ Top, Kriss Kirstofferson, Black Sabbath, Patty Loveless, Michael Shenker & UFO, John Kilzer, Leslie West, Ed Bruce, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Shawn Lane......books, trees & movies!
I’m not really a band......I’m a songwriter & record producer. I’ve had songs recorded by Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, SheDaisy, Trace Adkins, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Marty Stuart, Deanna Carter, Diamond Rio, Randy Travis, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Gary Allen, Chris Ledoux, etc etc. I’ve written and produced songs for Film & TV and won an Emmy in 2001 in the Best Original Song category. My productions include Trace Adkins, Chris LeDoux and Rebecca Lynn Howard to name a few.
I’m from Memphis TN., and I live in Nashville. I've written songs with artists from all over the world, from Velvet Revolver to Faith Hill, N’ Sync to Lynyrd Skynyrd. To get 2009 started I'm writing with Richard Marx, Billy Gibbons, Katharine McPhee, Blue2th Griggs and Brian Howes among others. I own Model Horse Music, a division of Chrysalis Music. I have several really amazing young artists in development right now....... KingBilly, Kree Harrison and Chris Janson.
