Heroes
My Dad,CLose friends, and anyone who has an incredible passion for whatever they do and love. As long as they go to sleep thinking about it or waking up thinking about it, they are heroes to me!!
About me: Trey Lander got involved in music at age 13, when his father got him an Epiphone SG and a tiny single 10 crate guitar amp. From there he started learning songs and realized how obsessed he had become. By age 15 he recorded his first "CD" haha, with an original group LikWid Air, @ Loft Studios, in Buffalo , NY. From there, he broadened his horizons and picked the drums, followed by the bass at age 17. He slowly began practicing and performing all three as often as possible. But in the end, he began doing virtually all of his gigging on the bass and discovered it was his true passion. AT age 21 (2004), he Joined the Mick Hayes Band, a full-time blues trio from Buffalo, NY. Averaging atleast 4 gigs a week, it was a new experience. Some weeks, averaging 6 to even 8 gigs a week. In 2005, the group actually performed 132 gigs in 10 months , and also recorded a 6 track EP. At the end of the year they won 3 awards at the Western New York, Peoples choice awards. By 2006, they felt it was time to relocate to Georgia, but gradually fizzled away. Since the move, Trey graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Music, recorded with Jimmy Daniels, (engineer for Killers, Nickleback, etc.) from Nashville. Played in over 20 groups since 2006 as a free lance musician and recorded on dozens of tracks from different studios around Atlanta with many different styles and artists. Today, Trey is slowly getting involved in the Session world of music and has recorded with such artists/Producers such as Baku, De La Soul, Pussy Cat Dolls, Polo da Don, D. Smith, and a lot more tracks that hope to be picked up and used. As far as the gigging life, he is focusing more on original projects such as Thaxton and Senona. He is now teaching private lessons in Guitar and bass @ the Music Authority in Cumming, GA with a little over 30 students, 4 days a week. He continues to study jazz, harmony, fusion, and anything that will improve his ears and his playing.
As many people as possible, anyone that loves to just forget about your surroundings and just have fun, and as many great musicians as I can to help me become a better musician!!!"
