justin and eric started treysuno at our friend jesse's new year's eve party in 1999. scott nailed his audition a few months later by climbing on top of a table to play air guitar. after going through several drummers, j.d. blessed us with his talents in late 2001.
treysuno shared stages with clem snide, the detachment kit, engine down, joan of arc, the lawrence arms, pinebender, saturday looks good to me, shiner, silkworm, sweep the leg johnny, and thunderbirds are now. coheed & cambria even opened for us once. hot damn...
after releasing a 7" and several compilation tracks, treysuno finally released a full length record, narwhal in 2007. the narwhal, a mammal in the whale family sports a long, single tusk and is also known as the "unicorn of the sea." justin refers to it as "the ocean's biggest mistake."
after nearly 8 years, treysuno amicably hung 'em up in november of 2007. eric and j.d. are in their final semesters of law school. scott is teaching music in northern ohio and releasing new material with longtime friend robert under the moniker highland. justin continues his work as a political consultant/profiteer and is in the process of forming a new band called speed governor.
On Sept 21 2000 I had my first college birthday. I didn't have a lot of friends yet, but some kids from the radio station invited me to a concert at easy street cafe. That's when I heard my favorite college band for the first time.
It was even better seeing you all. The shows were fantastically bittersweet and so much fun. Treysuno was the first band I ever saw in BG, I will cherish the memories :)
Also, the mix you handed out is great! I've been listening to it in my car all week!
after the chicago finale are we going to herd you four onto a boat, set it on fire, and push it out into lake michigan? i see a viking funeral as the only fitting end to treysuno.
Oh...that's sad. Now I will go to bed being depressed about missing my daughter and your band. Damn, I really hope Chicago isn't a shitty turnout. I will never forgive Chicago if it betrays my favorite band. (this post was made without any sarcasm...I mean it)
So sad to hear about the end of Treysuno. Go out in a flame of glory. Burn the Beat Kitchen to the ground. You will be remembered for weeks. Which is forever in the "hotter, sexier, faster, now" culture of today.
justin, i love the track, and that'll work famously, but do you have a live, demo, slash anything version of one of your more aggressive tracks? (i only ask that because the way the comp is looking, very great bands, but very melodic and slower, your track is grand, but i was hoping for the flip side to have a version/copy of something of yours more in your face-esque. that's a term now. your welcome.)
okay, i, as plakII, have gathered myself. liono is okay, the point is, you are giving plakII a song, playing a show at howard's, put plak in your top IIX. that's all i'm saying.
