Trey Wilson - Wave on Wave .. Add to My Profile | More Videos
Nineteen-year-old Trey Wilson comes straight out of South Texas. Trey's signature voice is the product of years spent listening to Texas country music artists such as the legendary George Strait and Bob Wills.
At the young age of 14, Trey began honing his stage performances at country music shows across Texas. He has also won numerous area, state and even national talent competitions with his traditional Texas-style performances.
The Uvalde native knew early on that music would be a big part of his life. From his first public performance, at the age of six when he sang Hank Williams' "Your Cheating Heart," Trey knew he wanted to sing country music.
Trey found that he not only enjoyed live performance; the recording studio also fascinated him.
"I was eleven years old the first time I recorded in a studio," says Trey. "I loved it!"
In December 2004, Trey started working on his debut album "Let's Just Dance," which is a blend of pure traditional country music, western swing and new original music. Trey's involvement in all aspects of creating the album created a collection of songs that reflected his unique style.
Years after its release, "Let's Just Dance" is still getting air play on radio stations throughout the United States and around the world.
With one album already under his belt, Trey is already planning the next one!
Although the young Texas artist knows the road ahead won't be easy, he's in it for the long haul.
"There are a million musicians out there, who want to make it as a country music artist," says Trey, "and I know there's a small 'window of opportunity' for an artist to achieve success. But an early start and a lot of hard work will hopefully pay off. A vocal instructor of mine once told me something I will always remember. He said, 'An amateur works until he gets it right. A professional works until he never gets it wrong.' I plan on 'never getting it wrong.' "
Being in the right place at the right time has provided Trey opportunities to meet people in the country music business.
"I've been lucky. I have already had so many people in the music business help me, from Texas songwriters to Nashville producers," added Trey. "I've been amazed at how helpful people in the music business have been."
Where ever you catch one of Trey's performances, you'll find that his stage presence shines through. Music critics have said Trey was "born to be on stage."
Trey has had same stage performances with: Ray Price, Hank Thompson, Darrell McCall, "Fiddlin" Frenchie Burke, Leona Williams, Bobby Flores, Noel Haggard, Matt Jenkins, Ronnie Huckaby, Gene Watson, Moe Bandy, Johnny Bush, John Conlee, Mark McKinney, Jack Ingram, Eli Young Band and more to come!
