Collecting blues, doo-wop, bebop and gospel 78's. Photography and graphic arts. Playing the sax, guitar, bass, violin, flute, clarinet. Through most of the 80's and early 90's I was co-owner founder of STRANGE CARGO in Chicago, a store devoted to the fashions of the 20's to the 60's, so I still enjoy collecting certain items of vintage clothing and accessories. I have nice collections of men's silk and rayon scarves, formal cummerbunds and vests, unworn seamed stockings from the 40's and 50's in original boxes and packages.

About me: This page is about the free-form radio show I did in the 70s and its reincarnation on live365.com. Back in the 70's I hosted and produced TRIAD RADIO on WXFM-FM. With antenna atop the Sears Tower the signal reached Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and the greater Chicago area. Five nights a week I introduced the listeners to much new music in a variety of genres including progressive, psychedelic, heavy metal, experimetal, folk, blues, electronic, alternative, new-wave, jazz, fusion, spoken word and unclassifiable. It was all mixed in an entertaining and creative manner.
Many of the German experimental and rock bands first got their US exposure on my show including Kraftwerk, Can, Amon Duul, Guru Guru, Epitaph, Grobschnitt, Kraan, Tangerine Dream, Cluster, Lucifer's Friend, Scorpions, Jane, Ash Ra Tempel and lots more. Many other Euro bands got played too like Locomotive GT and Omega from Hungary, Italian bands like PFM, Banco, Goblin, from Poland there was Nieman and SBB, and British bands like Hawkwind, ELP, Genesis, Roxy Music, Thin LIzzy, Judas Priest to mention a few. I got to do interviews with artists who were established or up and coming like Donovan, Richie Havens, Dr. John, Allman Bros., John Denver, Cat Stevens, David Bowie, Elton John, Styx, Bob Welch, Fleetwood Mac, Curtis Mayfield, Elvin Jones, Nicky Hopkins, Mountain, Wayne Shorter, Peter Tosh, John McLaughlin, Gentle Giant, Golden Earring and many more. You can find more information on the old show at triadradio.net
These days I'm working more in visual media with my Youtube channel "The Saularium." You can see videos I've shot of Hawkwind, Gong, Electric Medicine, Maurice Brown,Chico Malo and other local area bands. There are playlists with guitar lessons, Kraut rock, Saxophone greats. The channel is very diverse and eclectic like my old radio show so I hope you check it out. THE SAULARIUM
Besides music my other passion in life is photography and the graphic arts. I started photographing at a very early age with my father's German folding roll film camera from the 1930's. This began an interest in vintage and antique cameras and soon I started building a nice collection that included panoramic and stereo cameras, old Leicas and other rangefinder cameras, Rollieflex and Hasselblad. I did most of my work with the old Nikon F's but would always run some film through the vintage gear. I've gotten rid of most of my film cameras and work exclusively with digital cameras,I'm using Sony 828 and Canon 30D for my stills and JVC and Sharp mini-DV for video. I really appreciate the immediacy of the results with digital and not having to deal with chemicals and darkrooms is another big advantage for me.

Action against Monsatocorn (information to Monsanto) in Germany:
Dear Sir or Madam,
On the 14th of April this year, Germany was the sixth nation in the EU to ban GM maize manufactured and distributed by your corporation.
I hereby demand that you respect this ruling! Abandon your lawsuit against the ban which you have filed with the Administrative Court of Braunschweig!
Agricultural Minister Ilse Aigner, the member of the German Federal Government responsible for this issue, has taken the legitimate concerns of citizens seriously and has sensibly assessed the risks of GM maize MON810.
Accept the fact that the people of Germany do not want your genetically engineered plants! Best regards,
(Your name, City and e-mail will be shown to MONSANTO, if You wanna do it, just copy this link into Your Browser and enter your .. http://www.campact.de/gentec/sn5/signer)
