Band MembersWell there are LOADS of us, too many to list really. There is a hard working long suffering core crew of about 10 volunteers, most of whom have been there from the very beginning. Then we have many more volunteers who have worked hard to make Triban what it is. We are always looking for new members/ crew so e-mail us on triban-tribe@hotmail.co.uk if you are interested.
InfluencesSpeaking for myself (Rich), festival bands over the last 18 years, starting with the likes of The Moonflowers, RDF, BTTP, Tofu's, Tarantism, Tragiks, so many to list, Headmix, AOS3, Shak Shak, the Levellers, Eat Static, KilnAboy, then Dub Dub and Dub, D&B, the music of Brasil, Spain, gypsy beats, free parties on Welsh hillsides, Fern Hill, Gaudi, reggae, folk, Breton music, and all the rest...
Sounds LikeWhoever's playing when you wander in!

   About Triban

TRIBAN Solar Stage

A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME AND MADE TRIBAN SPRING GATHERING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND!

WE HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT TIME, AND WE'D LOVE TO SEE ANY PHOTOS YOU TOOK, AS WELL AS ANY FEEDBACK TO HELP US MAKE NEXT YEAR EVEN BETTER.

SEE YOU SOON IN A DIFFERENT FIELD!

**************************************************************

Triban is a solar powered music venue and vegan cafe situated within a Moroccan Marquee. We provide and create a magical space for musicians, poets, and cabaret acts, designed to inspire and delight.

As a collective we work together sharing and contributing skills. Our collective includes technicians, musicians, artists, performers, activists… We believe in working together non-hierarchically and are a non profit organization – we do it out of love!

Triban aims to offer a glimpse into the way we want to live, we believe our collective way of working creates a productive and empowering way of life.

Triban Offers:

  • An open space where people can teach, learn, party and share ideas for creating a lifestyle that is inspiring and sustainable.
  • A relaxed, friendly environment for both chilling out and partying

This is provided by:

  • Tribans’ venue which is a 14m by 7m Moroccan Marquee
  • Renewable energy: We use solar, wind and cycle power to run our sound system.
  • Solar stage: Our sound engineers provide high quality sound for performers, and our own resident DJs and bands. New for 2009 we have a 24 channel Allen and Heath mixing desk allowing us to cope with the most numerically massive festival bands.
  • A new chill out space, The Triban Harem. Look out for our new Aladdins Cave theme, and this new beautiful Bell Tent. It could also host our Art Gallery, Films, Workshops, or a healing space.
  • A vegan café (with Fairtrade organic produce where possible) Tea, Chai and snacks.
  • A radical information stall.

Resident Bands:- We have grown a large family of amazing bands and musicians who love playing in Triban, that we could bring to a festival, or recommend to any event organiser.

On May 1st-3rd, we will be holding our 4th Triban Spring Gathering, outside Cardiff. Look out for more details to follow shortly.

If you are interested in booking Triban for a festie or are interested in playing please email:

triban-tribe@hotmail.co.uk

So far confirmed for 2009, we will be at The Small World Gatherings, Sunrise, The Workhouse Festival, Buddhafields, The Big Green Gathering and The Village Dream Festival.

Here is some fliers from past events and gigs. Enjoy them and see you all very soon.

Pradox vs Bassid ‘Exfoliator’ digital ep is out! :)

It is a fateful occurrence meeting a soulmate on life’s trip whose points of view, taste, and interests are so homogeneous to your own that words are unnecessary in process of creating and composing! The duet project of Bassid vs Pradox is an example of one of these chance encounters. Every track is a masterpiece guiding you through thought, travel, dream, and freakout through dance. Their sound is flawless and full of inspirational harmonies. Bassid vs Pradox’s music is one reason why Arkona Creation Music and Art Label has been created! This music is a true stimulus in keeping ourselves and other positive and full of joy!

1. JAMON... Imagine being in a funky ping-pong game of sounds in an animated battlefield. This pumping bass beats and intriguing background pads of whistling, flying, and shooting keep your body moving and your mood in curiously high spirits.

2. TRAMPOLINE... Is a progressive piece of musical cake filled with funky bass and combined with a variety of percussion elements to propel you slowly across the dance floor. As if on a magical train expelling colorful steam, we are transported to a fairy tale land full of funky characters.

3. UNLOCK... With instinctive synths and a progressive trance bass, this track is an intelligent blend of technique and style. The abysmal depth of tunes build up a ritualistic intensity which can easily guide one through the 5th dimension.
