Happy New Year TOCsters. It's been a funny few months for Tribe of
Cro. As some of you may have noticed, Niall has joined Hawkwind and
made his debut on their last tour. We're all dead chuffed for him, and
despite calls for 'Hydroculture' and 'Potlatch' from the crowd at the
gigs (well, from us anyway) he put in some sterling performances, so
well done Niall.
All this doesn't necessarily mean the end of TOC. What is does mean is
that the lineup is probably going to become a litte bit more flexible
in order to accommodate truancy. We're looking forward to playing with
Niall when he's around, but if he's otherwise engaged with the good
ship Hawkwind, then you may see some new faces, or possibly some old
faces on stage with us instead. Plus ca change…
Other TOC news…the long awaited, eagerly anticipated Mavacanto CDs are
actually in the possession of TOC's sweaty palms, and will go out to
people as soon as we can remember where we put the email addresses.
More gigs to be announced shortly.

A genuine cult band, The Tribe of Cro are one of the unsung heroes of the underground festival scene. For over 10 years they have been waving their freak flag high to the sound of free festival psychedelics, driving krautrock rhythms,spacey liquid electronica soaked in a skip load of stoner riffing guitars. From the tops of mountains to the depths of Eastern Europe TOC have played many of the major underground and psychedelic festivals in UK and Europe, including Herzberg (Germany), Glastonbury (UK), Dour (Belgium), Hawkfest (UK), High Life (Netherlands) to name just a few. Formed in 1995, they drew members from various alternative south coast bands, including Mandragora, The Great Imperial Yoyo, Giant Eyes, Wobble Jaggle Jiggle. An initial jam quickly led to lengthy tours of Europe where the T.O.C. sound was honed. This was captured to great effect on albums such as 'Sporadic Spyrogyra' and 'Hydroculture'.
Tribe of Cro have always essentially been a live experience though, embracing and celebrating the moment with inspired improvisations and stunning musicianship.
