Influences
The many influences of the band range from Pat Benatar, The Cure, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Enya, and Beethoven to Heart. Or from Metallica that just met J.S. Bach at Pink Floyd's house. Rebekah, the lead-singer/composer, writes the music in a Celtic Rock format. She is 100% Irish. Even some words are written in Gaelic. However, her voice is very unique as she studied profesionally, as did Pat, and she switched from opera/musical theater to rock music. The guitarist is Hard Rock shredder that has a "Santana" influence. One great melting pot once the band is all together!
Sounds Like
J.S. Bach having a nightmare about Gothic Musical Theatre...
A Portland based band, Tribe Of The Outcast
has recently gained serious attention for their driving world beat sound. Their
complex and often-intense sound is difficult to compare, yet shades of Emerson
Lake and Palmer and an infusion of sometimes Classical, Celtic, (Emerson Lake
and Palmer meet the Cure at Enya’s house) and World-Beat music adds to the
artistic array. The band members are are all veteran performers...three have
classical training, two have degrees in music. The front person is Rebekah
Burton. She is from Ireland, and was trained as a concert pianist and opera
singer. The other band members have all played in many pro bands and in clubs
all over the Portland, Oregon metro area.
