The main goal of the tour is to spread the message of enlightened human understanding; give humanitarian support to host cities through partnerships with local charitable organizations; and provide a platform for influential speakers to pass on Gandhi's non-violent approach to conflict resolution. Their journey takes viewers to regions such as the Middle East, Europe, Asia and America. The film also documents historical moments such as the celebration of a 100 years of non-violence, the 30 days of peace and the 60 years of Mahatma Gandhi assassination.
"We still have a long way to go to combat violence in our societies and every effort by every individual goes a long way towards planting the seeds of nonviolence and peace. I would like to congratulate the organizers of this event for their dedication and commitment to peace." -Arun Gandhi
“I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent” – Mahatma Gandhi
In a time where reaching the younger generation and traversing cultural barriers with messages of peace is pivotal, Tribes of the World has joined forces with Music 4 Peace to host The Gandhi Tour Benefit Concert, inspired by the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
Taking place on Saturday 12th April 2008 at the historical Kingsley Hall, the concert marks the finale event of the Festival of Nonviolence, which was organised to commemorate the years that have passed since the assassination of two advocates and practitioners of Nonviolence, respectively, 60 years for Mahatma Gandhi and 40 years for Martin Luther King. The principle aim of the festival is to remind Londoners and visitors of the depth and power of Nonviolence and its pervasive power today in solving the major problems of our city and the world at large.
Mahatma Gandhi was an advocate of non-violent resistance and peaceful protest, which ultimately led India to independence from British rule, and consequently inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. He was tragically assassinated on 30th January 1948 by a Hindu radical.
The concert also forms a part of The Gandhi Tour’s annual, multi-city global music and art tour, its mission being to create a global cultural platform to spread Mahatma Gandhi’s message of peace through the universal language of music and the arts. The tour and event is endorsed by Arun Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson, who continues to eternalise his Grandfathers prolific message of Nonviolence, multicultural understanding and ending global hunger along with world peace.
Michael Johnson, Spiritual Adviser to the UN comments, “Pathways to Peace is honored to support the Gandhi Tour global peace initiative. For many years, we have been developing The Culture of Peace Initiative (CPI) as a co-operative Peacebuilding Initiative whose long-term purpose is to unite the strengths of existing organisations and peoples in building a Culture of Peace for succeeding generations. CPI, originated in 1983 by Pathways to Peace, has served as a vehicle for bringing to light the previously unseen and unheard Peacebuilders working towards Peace along diverse pathways. An annual highlight of this Initiative is the International Day of Peace, (Peace Day) celebrated worldwide on 21st September by over 3,000 local/global organisations in over 200 nations. CPI continues to serve as a community of forerunners in the emerging field of Peacebuilding, to give evidence that Peace is a practical reality and necessity in the 21st Century. To us, Gandhi Tour is responding to humanity's urgent cry for peace.”
In support of The Gandhi Tour and its worthy cause, Arun Gandhi, says "We still have a long way to go to combat violence in our societies and every effort by every individual goes a long way towards planting the seeds of nonviolence and peace. I would like to congratulate the organisers of this event for their dedication and commitment to peace."

I have been away from Myspace for a while, because I had been painting until last week. This was the end of one year and 3 months of intense 15 hours work days, 7 days a week. I painted 10 large canvasses, and I'm really excited with the result!
This is a pic of painting number 10 that I finished last week. It's still untitled. The photo doesn't really show the intensity of the several orange and gold colors. I also used lot's of gold and golden glitter This one is my favorite. It really looks spectacular, when one sees it live. Acrylic on Canvas ( 72in x 48in / 1m83 x 1m21 )
