This weekend long event takes place at Camp Merri-Mac, a lovely campground on a lake just outside Asheville, NC, and features sleeping cabins, a theater, authentic and awesome world cuisine, child care, hiking trails and more!
A weekend packed with Tribal Dance, Music, and Culture classes, as well as children's programming and activities, and classes geared towards keeping non-dancers occupied and entertained, such as swordplay, juggling, fire arts, and more!
New this year is our Tribal Bazaar, a gorgeous, environmentally friendly outdoor pavilion filled with the best shopping goodies one could hope for.
Also new this year is "Pangaea's Spice Cafe", presented by Ambrosia's Delights. This popular festival cafe provides a lovely eastern-style ambience with both cushion and cafe-style seating, wholesome-yet decadent treats, caffeinated beverages, in a luscious out door setting.
Plus there is the beauty of Camp Merri-Mac, with swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and just relaxing in a hammock!
Who I'd like to meet: Bellydancers, Balkan dancers, disco dancers, dancers looking to expand their reprotoire, new dancers, expert dancers, everyone in between. Percussionists of all skills and on all types of rhythym producing implements, melodic musicians on every type of instrument: violin, accordian, Lute, Bozouki, Saz, flutes, spiked fiddles, and more! Circus arts enthusiasts: fire performers, jugglers, swashbucklers, poi spinners and so on! Gypsys at heart looking to read some tea leaves, play with tribal tattoos, craft cowries, shisha mirrors, costumers and the dancer who needs more costume know-how. Children to come and enjoy our engaging kids program, anyone needing a retreat with promising arts pursuits in middle eastern culture on a lucious plot of land in relaxing Black Mountain, NC.
