Hey everyone,
It has taken me quite some time to get this site up and running as my songs were in M4A format, but nonetheless, here I am!
My music is very personal to me. Every single word was placed for a reason, nothing was ever just a "filler". I find I respect the artists who write their own music more than those that sing music created by others. So it has always been my mission to write and play my own songs.
I play the piano (obviously), but I cannot read. I only took one month of lessons when I was 8 years old, but I never understood the theory part of it. I can play by ear no problem (hence my songs) but I can't read a thing (hence my boring chord transitions). My lack of understanding theory is really coming around to kick me as I know I could write so much better if I just had the understanding, but I don't. I would love to get into contact w/ someone who has a great understanding of music but still plays from the heart. I hate musicians who are strictly mechanical. There is nothing beautiful about that.
So to answer some questions: I write the lyrics (most of them, sometimes my amazing friend Andrea Ketty will give me her poems and I will write from those, such as "After All"), I write the melody, I play the piano and I sing... Again, b/c of my lack of understanding the theory behind the music, my music is only good to a point - it lacks the touch of someone who truly understands theory.
Each song is representative of me at some stage in my life. Up to this point in my life, relationships/love has taken priority in for me, so my songs mainly reflect "love". I can't wait to expand that and write about life.
But for now, this will do. :)
I plan on sending in my demo to a few labels just to see what would happen, but we will see... My life is so crazy right now that my demo, unfortunately, is taking the back-burner to other things.
Anyways, if anyone has questions about my music, PLEASE ask. Like I said, these songs are so close to my heart that when I hear feedback, it melts my heart!
