.. .. .. TRICKSTAH PROMOTIONS is an independent promotions company that works with bands, musicians, venues, and other promoters all over New England. We put our resources and connections to good use by doing what we can to help bands move forward. Filling dates on tour, or help with a cd release show, we're here to help. Providing you take it all as seriously as we do.

We've been doing this long enough to know that the same issues and circumstances constantly arise. Im a straight shooter so here it goes. Hopefully this removes any wonder or concern.

Not all promoters are assholes! All of you have come across those shady promoters that pack a room but give the bands nothing. When you play a Trickstah show:

** if there is no paying touring band on the bill, or a $400 venue cost. A small percentage at the door goes to us and then the rest is split amongst the bands. Its more than safe to say, if you walked away with no money.. we did too. If there are upfront costs, obviously we need to break even first.

** we prefer to enjoy the show and tie up loose ends when the night's about to wrap up. None of this can happen if you DON'T STAY UNTIL THE END OF THE NIGHT. Show some respect for the other bands. In the end its your loss.

TO BANDS THAT ARE WILLING TO TRAVEL:

** If you decide to play out of your own town, don't ask for money upfront unless you can garauntee that you're bringing people. By all means if the opportunity to play to ears an hour away doesn't interest you, you wont offend us by saying no. Take the opportunity to collect names, meet new people, and work as hard as you can to expand your fanbase. All we can do is give you the opportunity, the rest is up to you. Most likely, if youre patient and ride out the night, you'll probably get what you were going to ask for anyways once everything is split up.

believe it or not, we prefer not to work with rockstars.

I don't believe in taking tallys at the door, or forcing your fans to do anything above and beyond to prove they're there to see you.

NOW, you might be thinking... "When im playing in my hometown should I get the same amount of money as the never heard before band from an hour away?" .. Obviously, if its clear that the kids are there for you, then obviously that's taken into consideration. Obviously.

We book mixed genre shows because we like to. Members of other bands are fans too. That gnarly punk band might bust out with Blink 182 or some shit and before you know it you're hanging out with hippies. Trust me on the bills. ha.

*** TO LOCAL ARTISTS, CRAFTERS, CUPCAKE MAKERS, SILK SCREEN PRINTERS, BUTTON MAKERS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, TATTOO ARTISTS, ROLLER DERBY FOLKS, PIN-UP MODELS, PRODUCTION COMPANIES:

we're here for you too!!!! We know the time and passion you put into your craft and at any time if Trickstah is involved and you want a vendor table please ask. We dont charge for tables unless its a festival or all day event. WE WANT YOU TO GET INVOLVED! Whats better than cupcakes & rocknroll? I know .. meeting that kid that can do shirts for your band for a low cost. (psst, hes not making any money either, SUPPORT HIM!)
