..Manchester based experimental and improvisational trio, Triclops, comprise of Gareth Bibby, David Clarkson and Tim Jones. ..
..Triclops music is generated live from a collection of samples, sounds and manipulations selected from any historical reference point in time. Performances can be abrasive, ambient or purely strange, but more often than not, all three at once. Despite never quite knowing what each member is likely to pull out of the hat next, the three members' musical rapport is such that a striking cohesive beauty is almost always achieved. ..
..Triclops first played live at aLECTRO eCOUSTIC, Centro Bar, Manchester in February 2001. Earlier on, they did several gigs as a quartet featuring JJ Howard. The band have played live nationally and shared the bill with many acts including Sisters of Transistors, Crispy Ambulance, Biting Tongues, Spaceheads, Melt Banana, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Sunroof!, Speedranch-Jansky Noise, Magic City and 3D Tanx. A complete list of Triclops gigs are archived in the blog above...
..Members of Triclops are also involved in solo musical activities. Gareth Bibby has been producing solo work under the name Disco Operating System since 1996 and released many CDs, CDRs and 7"s. He has shared the stage with acts including To Rococo Rot, Posset, Philip Jeck, Si-Cut.db and Colin Potter to name but a few. Dave Clarkson records and occasionally plays live under the name Illuminati. He has released 5 albums and various EP's as well as collaborative pieces, compilation appearances and in various film festivals worldwide. He has shared the bill with many acts including Tele:Funken, Si-Cut.db, Colin Potter, Keith Rowe and King Dice. Tim Jones records for and co-runs the Fflint Central record label releasing esoteric and abstract music under the name Pendro. He has released many CDs and featured on compilation albums and his music has been played extensively on worldwide radio. ..
