Beware of Grey's Anatomy night. Have you ever seen 30 people trying to watch one TV? It gets a little crazy.
The University of Nevada chapter of Delta Delta Delta was founded on campus in 1913. Our sorority was the first Greek house established, which means Tri Delta has the longest-running ties and traditions to UNR. One of our proudest accomplishments is our philanthropy and we work hard all year long to raise money and awareness for Saint Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. The Delta Delta Delta sorority partnered with St. Jude in 1999 and in 2005 pledged to raise $10 MILLION in 10 years (That is the largest amount pledged to any cause by any Greek organization to date!). So far, we've donated, as a whole, $6.8 million - that's over half our pledge in 3 years! Our chapter alone raised over $33,000 in the 2007-2008 school year for St. Jude! This year we hope to bring in even more for our cause.
Other than working for our philanthropy, the women of Tri Delta love participating in Greek Week events, University functions, intramural sports, clubs, campus sporting events and tons more. We all work hard in school, making sure all of our sisters do the best work they can. All of the women in Tri Delta initially came to the University of Nevada for a great education, and we keep that notion at the top of our priorities. Our members are all very diverse and there is a personality for everyone. But, the one thing all of us have in common is our friendship. We all carry a strong bond with one another, and that's something all of us hold dear to us. We all like to have fun and be silly, ask any Tri Delta and she'll surely have a funny story to tell that involves at least one of her other sisters.
The women of Tri Delta are one of a kind and we can promise that an experience like the one we're all living is a once in a lifetime thing. We work hard, have fun, learn from each other daily and above all else we create a perpetual bond of friendship. After all - LIFE IS BETTER IN 3D!
