TRIKE'S ALBUM "THE NEW ALBUM" WAS NUMBER 6 ON THE CHARTS FROM FEBRUARY TO THE END OF APRIL, 2007 ON KOOTENAY COOP RADIO!!! (http://kootenaycoopradio.com/charts/)
TRIKE BIO:
* Trike was born under the name 'Zipperhead' in 1998, when Stephen Taylor started recording songs with his four-track in Montréal.
* In 2000, Taylor changed the project's name from 'Zipperhead' to 'Trike'. After recording two albums, "Banana Bike" and "The Old Album", he took Trike to the stage and performed a handful of shows around Vancouver.
* After several line-up changes, Taylor decided to lay the project to rest and went to Emily Carr Institute and subsequently AKI (art school in the Netherlands) from 2001 - 2005, where he majored in Media Art.
* Taylor recorded two albums in those four years; one entitled "You Sweaty Thing" and the other entitled "The New Album".
* Upon returning to Vancouver in 2005, Taylor began collaborating with another ambitious musician, Wes G. Knight, and Trike was reborn. After thirty shows in and around Vancouver, the duo took Trike on tour for the first time. 22 shows later, unhappy with their union, the duo broke up in Montreal, cancelling the rest of the tour.
* Within a few months, Taylor had found five other musicians to play with and Trike took on a new twist, becoming an eclectic, folk-electro-pop outfit. Xania Keane was one of these newbies, playing violin and singing back-up. This short-lived version of Trike performed a handful of shows around Montreal before Taylor decided to a) cut down the number of players to one and b) move.
* Xania Keane began collaborating with Taylor in Montreal, on a couple of songs but it wasn't until the terrible twosome moved back west that Trike began to truly take shape.
* Keane and Taylor moved to Vancouver in the fall of 2007 with 100 dollars and one clear goal: to make their living as musicians/ artists. They began busking.
* Busking is where they developed and fine-tuned their act. Keane took a stronger role in the outfit, incorporating lightening-speed rapping, Irish step-dancing, glockenspiel and toy-digital guitar. They collaborated more and more, writing songs such as "Let's Jog" and "George Stroumbouloupolous".
* One week after arriving in Vancouver, Trike performed their song "Masturbation" at a local open mic and were spotted by Ian Jarvis and Chris Murphy, who decided to record their next album, an EP, for free.
* In October, 2007, Trike's fifth album, "Heaven Is A Zipper Away" was released to a full house at Café Deux Soleils.
* Around this time, while busking, the duo was spotted by people who worked for local Vancouver radio station, C101. They were invited to take part in "The Gong Show". After 73 other contestants and three rounds, they won, taking home $20,000.
* With this money, Keane and Taylor booked a 15-stop tour around Europe. In April, 2008, they left for Amsterdam on their tour.
* At the time of this bio, they have played 75 gigs in Europe, have been warmly written about in FAZ (Popular German Magazine) and were interviewed by a magazine called "Boardstein". They are now on their second Canadian Tour
* Together they play electro-synth-pop. They are audience-interactive and theatrical; incorporating costume-changes, teaching dance moves, spanking audience members and jogging through venues.

Well.... I'm doing really good man... I mean.. I'm not touring Europe or anything ;)
Every time I check your page you're touring man!! Right on!! Trike is in demand!! It must pay to be sexy!
I'm glad you're doing so many shows man... maybe a U.S. tour sometime??
I started this new page because I'm taking my music in a whole new direction and just wanted to shake things up a bit. I've been MC'ing and hosting a lot of events around Denver lately... and I'm kind of building a rep as such... which is a good thing. My music has been taking a backseat lately, so I wanted to rejuvenate it a bit and get people hip to my new sound.
I really dig MC'ing festivals and local events... even been doing a bit of Elvis impersonations around town which got me on some local news channels performing live (ridiculous, I know). But it pays really well... and I'm a ham... so I dig it.
I like your new profile pic... it oozes... something.. and I can't remember if I told you before that I dig your vids too. Great job.
Nice singing on Sudberry as well... very manly</i.... guttural.
Glad to see you folks are still instilling glee & spontaneity throughout the European hemisphere! Keep 'er rollin'! We're holding down the rock fort back home. Cheers. Robb
Just passing through to say "HI!” Sending you respect,
peace and love. Hope all is well and that you’re having a great week? Keep
rockin’ ... it's the only thing that matters!
nice. yeah well i got to see the last song of your show when you played Vordingborg (and got to jog) and regretted i didnt show up before. anyways let me know when you're here.. maybe we'll find out something
thank you for your enthusiasm. never mind about saturday night, i was wrong anyway, there was no singer/songwriter night, only djing. would have loved to see the two of you, though.
i hope you arrived in bruxelles safe and sound (or wherever you may be right now). make sure to give me a shout when you're around again.
So close and yet SO BLOODY FAR from you guys. Gone from London to Bath, then to Hereford and Glastonbury. Basicially we're stuck doing gigs, which is awesome, but very trike-less... which is NOT awesome.
I'm considering hopping one of those dementedly cheap flights to come over to the mainland before returning to Canada. Then I could stalk you.
